No, if you have a file in your import path that does not get parsed correctly ie doesnt pick up the series, season episode info then you can edit that information in the grid (Step 1 of the Wizard).

Thx for your answer. In the old version it was much easier. :(

Agreed !!!! Please can we have the manual version back:)

I've spent hours trying to get episodescanner to work correctly but it still errors out. The old manual version was just so easy to use. Trying to use the wizard is Ok if you know the series number but if you don't then your stuck.

    :D

How are you "stuck"? You certainly don't need the seriesnumber (do you mean the series ID or the season index?).

If the problem is that you don't know what the season/ep number is on the first page, just enter something like 1 1 for both, you can manually match them up in a later stage.

Describe your scenario so we can figure out what's wrong with the wizard. Simply saying it doesn't work doesn't help us improve things.

Change is often unpopular, but I must say that the new wizard is a smart move. I'd like to see the filename at all times though + some screens are a bit confusing at first, but people shouldn't be afraid of it, as it works very well.

Can you illustrate which screens are confusing and why?
Also, the filename is present where it makes sense I think, where would you like to see it added (keep in mind filenames are typically long so they take up lots of screen real-estate)?

    Thanks

Ok I gave that a try, hmmm seems to work best if you type in the series name but it works (it would wouldn't it doh) . Great.:D

To continue from step 1 to step 2, the series NAME, SEASON and EPISODE must be filled in. Why aren't these columns added by default and I have to press "Add column"?

In step 2 when you have a show name selected, a nice addition would if the series overview (plot) could be shown somehow so you can determine that you have the right one.

Sorry for the "missing filename" thing, I remembered it wrong.

I second that!!! Although the new wizard very much useful, the one thing missing for my taste is the series overview (plot) for each option. Maybe a tooltip on the combobox showing selected series' plot would do the trick...

I made some updates to the Wiki page describing the <import> and <include> tags, including adding a couple of new xml examples. For the first example, I highlighted the example text and eventually found the location in the menus where I could select the CODE macro to have the example text formatted as a code example. So far, so good...

Actually, you just reminded me of how I have handled this in the past: I merged the contents of an old export.xml with a new one to make a complete file containing the old values I needed and the new values I didn't want to change. Why should it matter if the export file is missing some values? I would expect the import process to...
