since all this stuff is useless without such enthusiasts.
I asked the basic question about Logo's on the MP1 at
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/united-states-tv-logos-chiago.126608/#post-1088929
@Jasmeet_181 Gave me a link to his Google Code
    https://code.google.com/p/mediaportal-us-logos/
    Very Impressive!
BTW US channels have such interesting thing like affiliate. So if for normal channe we have
    Channel - Alias
    but for US it's
Network - Local affiliate - (Alias)
So affiliate station could be alias itself or have subordinary aliases.
Some stuff to think about db model ;) I don't say we should change but we need to place weird US channels into it somehow.

Network - Local affiliate - (Alias)
But do we need to explicitly model this? Meaning is this info a) already given anywhere, b) used/required for mapping an alias to a channel/logo?
We don't have to overcomplicate things I would say, so saying a Network or Affiliate both are (in our objectmodel world) a Provider would be enough I think?
If not can you give some examples of this?

I agree to stay at current model but I had to tell about such thing to avoid problems in future ;)
I'm for having local stations as Aliases.
Check my mapping for US https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7658963/USMapping.xml
Provider field here transformed again... Now in "Place". Maybe this field should have common name like "Source" or smth similar. Or it could still named "Provider" and US providers could be like "Terrestial Texas" or "DVB-T Los Angeles"

Is there anything I can install in my MP2 to test?
Currently I have a full scan of Terrestrial for Chicagoland and can see what it does
I can do a scan on my WOW Cable and see what it finds.

So looking at this mapping file, every Item (=Alias in new DB) now has a Place instead of Satellite, which I would simply import as Provider in the new DB.

Providers are their own object, so when importing I will not create a new one if one with the same name is already found - but simply link the alias to it. So after I publish website again, you can check on a new page all aliases for a provider.

What I guess I should have on a Provider object would be:
    • Name (string - Astra or KabelBW or for US imported Texas Rio Grande Valley)
    • Info (string - simply more description)
    • Type (string - can be filled later with something like DVB-T, Cable, ...)

    BTW, before I forget...
When we talked about US repo with Lyfesaver74 I've found API http://developer.rovicorp.com/docs which had some TV Listings data. But more important it had information about TV services in different countries. AS I remember we tested its responce with guys from France and Sweden and it was ok. I've planned to use it for mapping all local stations to networks for US but didn't make it. Maybe you will be less lazy :)

Yes. But this is very provisional mapping. It was not finished I think and never published to repo. Just a mockup. need to polish it before import. Maybe with API I mentioned

    Yep, here it is
    Sever Plugin I assume....
I put all the files and the folder into the SlimTV Resource folder.
All started up good but do not see any Logo's.
What should I be looking for in the logs?

It created a folder Modern-StreamedMP 16x9-max (Or I think it created it)
    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Logos\Modern-StreamedMP 16x9-max
