Import DVDs with no name (2 Viewers)

Hello,

Actually, I try to import all my DVDs to MovingPictures. I have a problem when the DVD is named "New". The importer cannot find matches. Is there any solution to enter the right disc name manually?

choose the item in list and click on the turning arrow

einfach das element in der liste wählen und dann oben den drehenden pfeil anklicken. dort kannst du dann einen eigenen suchbegriff eingeben

Noch eine kleine Anschlussfrage: Ist es möglich beim Abspielen eine Meldung auszugeben wie "Lege bitte DVD 43 aus Schrank 1 ein"?

Is there any possibility to get an output inside movingpictures in MP like please insert DVD 43..."

Yes there is...

Go to the moving pictures configuration screen and select the movie in the movie manager tab.
Now right under the big movie title in the top right pane is a selectable button called "Movie Details" with an arrow pointing down.
Click on it and change it to File Details, te file information fields will display. Now change the value of the top field called "Media/Disk Label" to anything you like (e.g. DVD 43). Whenever you request the movie from the GUI and the disc isn't in the drive it will prompt you to insert that label.

note that the media/disk label is automatically populated at import with the volume label from the disc or media.
Looking at your first post this would be "New" in your case.
