I use the complete package of Owlsroost including the latest TSWriter, and I want there still perform a test with the penultimate version. In the latest version, a change has been incorporated, which affect the switching times and this somewhat extended. Should the pixelation be then still away, I would prefer this version, precisely because of the faster switching times.

It's v4.1.0.15 from this post - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ching-for-testing.130394/page-17#post-1150332 (also linked from the first post in the thread).
Thanks, I had figured it out (page 18...)

I am since a few weeks suffering from occasional stuttering in Live TV. It's quite annoying with picture standing still for a short time (usually one second, sometimes longer), then continuing without visble/audible data loss. The timeshift content is OK, therefore this relates to the process of reading the timeshift files on the server UNC share. However, I did not have the time to really go after it but will open another thread if problems persist with your modified reader.

After my tests with the previous version of the Writers I quickly found that it is not so. Although I have again found faster switching, but I also had again sporadic pixelation on all TV channels. After replacing against the latest version everything was clean immediately. I, at least, in my server-client environment must use the latest versions of Owlsroosts TSReader and TSWriter, so I'm able to enjoy a clean TV evening.

Finally, the tests and the fumble by reason are completed. I hope that the two new versions quickly tiling in MP2, so that there is not again everything starts all over again.

Great work, great tips. Thank you. Schade, dass wir so weit auseinander wohnen, sonst würde jetzt ein Bier ausgeben. :)

Since switching to the advertised tsreader/tswriter pair I no longer had the short pauses that I mentioned above. However I made some other changes to some group policies, hence not 100% certain that tsreader was the cure, but very, very likely.

I would also recommend to add these improved versions to master.

One last suggestion: can the version number be added to the file properties? This way one would be able to easily check the file versions.

It's already there, but for some reason it doesn't show up when you bring up the 'properties' of DS filters in Windows explorer (it shows up in software that understands DS filters like GraphStudioNext).

i have also checked those with FileInfo plugin for TotalCommander - it shows he VersionInfo resource if available. And for both TsReader and TsWriter there is VersionInfo present.
@Owlsroost pls correct year from 2014 to 2015 in Copyright filed of TsReader :)

I am not sure if it applies here
not really, as it talks about diff between version defined in VersionInfo and AssemblyVersionInfo, i.e. .NET world. The TsReader and TsWriter are written in c++, so - no assemblies etc...
It is just Windows Explorer not wanting to pick up the versionInfo from *.ax files (starting from Vista). There is a solution for those who bothers http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/118909/Windows-7-File-properties-Version-Tab-Shell-Extens
and exploration why it is so http://superuser.com/questions/1406...mber-like-ax-in-windows-explorer-on-windows-7

One thing I have recognised that when you use AudioRenderChanger it will interfear with the update - as soon I have it active the dll) all audiodevicesettings are set to the last one in my list (Realtek Digital ...) and this for all settings (TV / Video / Music). When I remove the dll it works.
