Has anyone ever tried media portal as a front end for a carputer? I'd like to keep my incar stuff the same as my home network - but the skin would need extra buttons such as launch gps and remote cameras.

I have considered it but when I downloaded a trial of centrafuse i was sold i still use it it has options mp does not have like navigation, cam, odbII, phone support etc. mp is simply not useful in combination with a touchscreen.
