Incorrect display on TV program (1 Viewer)

My channel list shows both HD and SD programs for some channels. However, there are no SD channels listed. For example, ZDF HD and ZDF. What could be the reason for this?

I don't recognise the panel shown in your screen shots (what skin are you using?). However, it looks similar to the panel that I call "Upcoming Episodes". You get to that panel by selecting a future programme in the EPG.

"Upcoming Episodes" lists all programmes that have the same title as the programme selected in the EPG, regardless of channel. If you are getting SD channels appearing as well as HD channels, I think that it must be because SD channels are enabled for the EPG in "TV Server Config".

Are you saying that the SD channels are not enabled in "TV Server Config"? I have never encountered that problem in my use of MP, nor seen any reports of it from anyone else.

If you are using IPTV channels, what I have said above may be completely wrong, as I know nothing about using IPTV with MP.

Ich verwende das Skin DefaultwideHD. Das Bild zeigt das Ergebnis, wenn ich im Programmguide bin und eine zukünftige Sendung programmieren möchte. Hier sollten alle Programme angezeigt werden auf denen Diese Sendung programmierbar ist. Aber eben nur die Programme die in meiner aktuellen Liste sind.

Just for your information: From November 18, 2025, ZDF will only broadcast in HD. ARD already made the switch in January 2025. Since then, Das Erste and the third channels have only been broadcasting in HD. This completes the transition that many private broadcasters have already made some time ago.

this was also my workaround. I simply deleted all SD channels. Now things are looking good again.

OK, I now understand your post (I have reproduced that behaviour on my test system).

If you create a channel group for HD channels (and no others), then when that group is the active group and you select a future programme in the EPG, you were expecting the "Upcoming Episodes" panel to show only episodes broadcast on channels in that group. Unfortunately that is not the way that TV Server works.

I think that one can argue this both ways:

• If you have excluded some channels from a group, then in "Upcoming Episodes" you definitely don't want to see future episodes broadcast on any of those excluded channels.
• If you have only a small number of tuners, and a recording from a channel in the active group would result in a conflict (more recordings scheduled than tuners available), you would want to see what other broadcasts of that episode were available in the EPG at a different time, and those other broadcasts might be on channels which are not in the group.

I am undecided which behaviour is the "correct" behaviour, but the limited development resource available means that this behaviour is unlikely to change in the near future.
