Increase the 'scrolling' speed of movie summary? (1 Viewer)

i was wondering if it is possible to increase the 'scrolling' pseed of the displayed movie summary. is there something in the xml that can be modified?

I think there is a setting for the scrollspeed for Mediaportal in general in the Mediaportal config, but I don't know if it affects MovingPictures tough.

That is the correct setting and that setting does affect MovingPictures.
You can access the setting from withing the GUI frontend (Settings -> Screen Setup -> Scroll speed)

Does anyone know if there is another way to do this? I do not have the settings enabled in the GUI

You could edit your MediaPortal.xml file direct (without MP running of course), and locate:

    <entry name="ScrollSpeedRight">..</entry>
    <entry name="ScrollSpeedDown">..</entry>

I use Right speed of 1 and Down speed of 4 myself.

But you should be able to adjust this from within the MediaPortal GUI itself, so you can quickly adjust and verify. Are you sure you are using the right 'settings'? You need to use the one from MediaPortal, which is either located in your mainmenu or under 'Plugins'. So not any configuration options of added plugins, as this is a master setting. Perhaps your custom skin is interfering, always resort back to Blue3 or Blue3Wide to test something (keep in mind the MediaPortal PNG thumb cache crash if u'r running v1.0.x beta2 and you rebuild your skin cache for MediaPortal). If it then works you know it is skin related and you need to ask the skin developers. If it still doesn't work, then you found a bug that you can report to either MediaPortal or the plugin developers.

On average I see 3 out of 5 bugs being reported turn out to be skin related, especially with new plugin versions being released, because skins have to be updated to support the new features.
