Where is the HD-PVR currently sitting with the latest SVN releases? Does it look like it's going to work with 1.0.1 when it's released?

Edit: how's the release compiled in March working out for everyone?

I'm using the 3-22 build that Garry updated for the OP. Supposedly the stock 3-22 svn works as well but I had the same video/audio freeze issue I had with older builds. The one Garry rebuilt with his HD-PVR patch, even though technically it should be the same, works. So go figure but obviously they are changing something in the newer SVN's related to Garry's patch and that doesn't bode well for 1.01.

As for MisterD's fixes, WilE and I have been testing them but as of the last build he posted the tv server was throwing up unknown errors.

So the long and short of it is, use Garry's 3-22 build for now (at least for TV Server) and wait it out. The only real problem I have with his build is the PMT still takes 10-12 seconds to start on first use; I played with WilE's special dll's to decrease that but those gave me issues. Regular channel changes for me are very snappy, only the initial TV start is still slow.

Just installed the newest SVN from the OP, and damn, what a difference. No more stuttering, the HD-PVR changes channels way quicker, just all around way smoother! Thanks a ton garry, WileE, ixian, MisterD, and all the others that have continuously debugged and programmed for the HD-PVR. The only odd thing that I came across is that I had to install the redist version of DirectX after installing the MP SVN. No biggie, just thought it was weird. Anyway, thanks again guys!

Edit: Well, it was working fine for about 15-30 mins. Now whenever I try to tune a channel with the HD-PVR, I see the STB get blasted and then MediaPortal just sits there. If I was watching a channel that is tuned by my HVR-1600, the screen goes about half-way faded and keeps playing in the background, but the HD-PVR never actually tunes in the channel. Just tried to preview a channel in TV-Server Config too, with the same results. Checking my logs I see that it is continuously waiting for the PMT. See logs attached.

Edit 2: After about 4 reboots with no success of being able to tune with the HD-PVR, I finally powered off and back on again the unit, and then started TME before anything else and I was able to pick up a image. Then went back into MP and it was working again. I'll update this post if it starts happening again.

Just in case anyone wondered if the latest 4-2-09 svn, which lists HDPVR fixes, works, the answer is: Nope! Crash and burn. Logs attached if anyone is interested.

Well that's a bummer, cause as of today, they're making it sound like 1.0.1 might be released by the end of this weekend and we're still not supported. On a side note, I'd like to thank garry, ixian, and WileE for continuously recompiling plugins/patches so that they will work with the latest SVNs so that those of us with the HD-PVR can at least try out some of the new features. Anyway, thanks for the great work guys and here's to hopefully having support when the final 1.0.1 comes out.

Dunno if it is coincidence or not BUT the whenever Garry recompiles an SVN with his patch, it works fine. I know that by now that same patch is technically supposed to be included or something but clearly something is wrong.

With the 4-2-09 svn, as shown in my error log posted above, I see 3 devices - the web radio one, a HDPVR entry that shows as "unknown" and a HDPVR Analog crossbar. I had to remap my channels/remote blaster to it but even after that, no go. When I try to manually start time shifting I get "An unknown error occured" immediately, if I do it from the TV Client I get the same thing.

Hopefully Mister_D or Garry can look at my log and spot the problem, I'd hate for this to be broken in 1.01.

I think I have to clear up some things:
    - Only a very small number of our developers are working on analog cards. Just look at the changelog. Also some of those devs aren't using analog cards.
    - We had quite big changes for all other analog cards in latest svn which had to be ported to the HDPVR.
    - The reason for the error in the last SVN should be fixed. It was side-effect of the other changes for analog cards
    - There were no fixes in latest SVN for the HDPVR. Only some additional error handling and adjustments for the other changes of analog cards. Otherwise you won't be able to add the "S-Video channels"
    - I'm planning to extend the list of supported devices and therefor it is needed that we will use the crossbar for the detection of the HDPVR.
    - There are many other analog cards that also don't work with the TvServer, but we are working on it.
    - The main problem with the HDPVR is a timing problem. In some cases TvServer gets the pmt very fast and in some not. Nothing that can be fixed very easily.

These are just my two cents.

@all: Please keep in mind that 1.0.1 will have other bugs too and every software has bugs. And when you test some test builds than please post your results and all your logs.

Don't get me wrong MisterD, I appreciate all the work you and others have put in :)

How many Devs have a HDPVR, I wonder? Would it be worth pooling together to buy one of them one? As far as I am aware this is the only capture solution for HDTV off STB's, so it might be worth doing.
