Installed RC4 server - recordings and schedules are gone !! (2 Viewers)

Title says it all. Installed RC4 over RC2 and now all recordings and schedules are gone. How do I get them back ?

They are not completely gone.

Your older installation directory was simply backed up by renaming it.

In Vista go to C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server_BACKUP_xx_xx_xx
and you will find your recordings there.

Thanks for your fast reply. I found that I had them on a special folder on another drive and just had to enter the right directory names.

Now how can I find the schedules (timer) for all the recordings I have programmed ?

I think this could be because RC4 created a new database in your SQL-server and all your previous schedules are in another database. Don't know how to transfer them but you could have pointed the new RC4 installation to the old database I guess.

I would try to start the old version of the TV Server configuration -> "TV Channels" -> [Export] -> export.xml
Start the newly installed tv server configuration -> "TV Channels" -> [Import] ...

This save your scheduled program, configured tv channels and groups, recordings and import them back in the new version.

I do that everytime I install a new version

Thanks, that's a good idea when I go back to RC3 or RC4. I just have too much trouble with RC4 server

and before you go back to a new version, try this Plugin BackupSettings.

Worked perfect for me when switching from RC3 to RC4.
