iPiMP 5.0.0 is released (4 Viewers)

Hi All

I've searched the iPiMP forum a few times and from what I gather ForTheRecord still isn't supported Am I correct or have I missed something? For anyone running 4TR is there any advantage in installing this plugin or is it totally reliant on the standard MP TV plugin?

I'm not running 4tr, but I think there are still some things you can do with this tool despite using 4tr.

You should be able to transcode and then stream recorded shows... MP still has knowledge of the shows even though 4tr started the recording, right?

You should be to watch live tv provided that 4tr isn't using the tuner for another recording. This hinges on whether or not you have any channels defined in MP or just defined in 4tr.

I suspect that you won't be able to view existing schedules or add new recordings since that's all in the 4tr database.

If I were you, I'd install it and see what you are able to do. It's not an intrusive install at all... the transcode plugin goes into the tv server directory and the rest is it's own program files directory running apache web server.

That's mainly what I'm looking for Thanks for the reply though @cheezey I'm sure there are lots of iPhone/4TR users looking forward to the day ForTheRecord is supported by this plugin.....

I'm using MP 1.0.2 and having the patch problem:

I only took the suggested location when I installed iPiMP. I didn't change anything.

If it's just an issue of patching to the wrong location. Can you give us a manual workaround and instruct us how to get the files to the right directory?

The following files should be overwritten with new versions by the patch:

• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\bin\uWiMPweb.dll
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\bin\uWiMPweb.pdb
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\Desktop\MediaPlayerTemplate.xap
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\Desktop\SmoothStream.htm
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\Desktop\SmoothStreaming.xap
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\Desktop\TimedTextLibrary.xap
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\images\remote\browser.png
• $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\SmoothStream.isml\blank.txt

It should then patch the web.config, updating the VERSION value to 5.0.1.568

And lastly patch $PROGRAMFILES\iPiMP\Aspx\config.xml replacing

SmoothStream/live.ism?stream_id=live-256-64k.ismv

with

SmoothStream.isml/SmoothStream.ism?stream_id=SmoothStream-256-64k.ismv

In that case, it's not an installation location problem - at least for me, as all the files are installed in the correct location and the config file is patched correctly.

My bet is still non a conflict of the patch with MP 1.0.2.

BTW, this doesn't just happen with music but with movies and series as well
