Hello, this really works nice now! Have tested it on Android, Firefox and iPad 2, live TV streaming is nice, only problem I have is HD channels. Seems my TV Server has not got enough power to encode these on the fly. From my task manager it seems to only load one of my four CPUs, is there a setting where I can adjust how many threads to use in the stream encoding? Getting it to run on two cores might just do the trick?

:D again for a great SW!

Live HD transcoding is a problem for everyone it seems, I cannot get it to anything faster than 15fps where it needs to be a lot faster than that for live streaming. I think this is to do with the ffmpeg fragmented MP4 muxer developed by CodeShop for Smooth Streaming. I intend to discuss this with them.

First of all, thanks for all this work. I have trouble streaming FM Radios, or no
streaming or sound don't starts, with DBT's radios no problem, only with FM Radio. Is this normal? Is the
TV card?

again thanks for everything and sorry for my English.

If I try to listen to a stream of DVB Radio, the file "SmoothStream.m3u8" contains
the following information:

#EXTM3U
## Created with mod_smooth_streaming(version=1.4.16)
#EXT-X-STREAM-INF:pROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=67840,CODECS="mp4a.40.2"
SmoothStream-64k.m3u8

in exchange for a FM Radio station has only the following information:

#EXTM3U
## Created with mod_smooth_streaming(version=1.4.16)

it's empty, but if it is released into the TV stream server ¿?

When streaming to a PC the aspect ratio is not correct. It was the same in the previous version.

Yeah - the transcoding command always forces the aspect ratio to widescreen regardless of the source aspect ratio. This is something that I intend to look at in a future version but it's quite a lot of work.

Not using iPimp at the moment but I saw this post as I'm thinking of reinstalling. You can just have ffmpeg scale the image according to the input flag ratehr than forcing it to be one or the other...

ffmpeg Documentation

So somtheing like this will scale to 480 wide and then adjust the height according to input aspect:

scale=480:-1

I use this with mencoder and so long as you have flagged MPEGs or square pixels going in (which 99%) of files used with MediaPortal will be that should work fine. Then you can drop your `-s size' command.

A.

I have the same issue trying to stream to iPod Touch 1G and Android phone. Audio only, no video. Tried from various MKVs and live TV, same result.

With regard to this... have you tried mencoder instead of ffdshow? Or could you put in an option to let us use our own command line encoder?

I see theres a manual command option with [o] etc so we would only need a path to the encoder then we can use what we like.
Also, I find menocder plays better with chucking any file at it rather than ffdshow. Just my experience though.

This build is very up to date for Windows:

MPlayer on Windows (win32)

And this command will resize your output according to the input flag (no forcing 16:9 or 4:3). Also its ipod compatible if I'm not mistaken, although you'll have to test. I know theres some issues with MP4 wrapping.

Code:
[i] -o [o].mp4 -vf yadif=2,scale=512:-3,harddup -af channels=2,resample=44100,volnorm=1 -mc 0 -ovc x264 -x264encopts global_header:level_idc=30:bframes=0:bitrate=448:preset=veryfast:tune=fastdecode -oac faac -faacopts mpeg=4:object=2:br=64:raw -of lavf

I'm using iPimp on my Android phone. This works very well except for streaming.
On my PC Flash streaming and Silverlight streaming is working, in all browsers except opera, maybe an update of swplayer will help?
And I can play the .m3u8 stream in VLC player (on PC), only it reloads the stream every 5 seconds or so.
Has anybody achieved streaming video on Android?
