Do you mean if you don't have the PC connected to the Internet - whether by cable or by wireless?

    I don't fully understand sorry?

If you mean get the EPG if you don't have internet access then it can be grabbed via the digital TV stream if you get digital.

the methods in order of ease of use are:

    Digital TV stream
    Download from Internet
Download from Internet on another PC and copy the TVGuide.xml from there to your MP PC.

Hope that helps, give some more information if you want me to go into further details. Otherwise, there is a whole forum dedicated to EPG and you will most likely find your answers in there. You'll also need to tell us which country you are in...

    Yes.

The TV guide info is grabbed from the internet, not your cable connecton. You dont even need a TV tuner installed to get EPG (Electronic Program Guide) data.

Not saying Marcusb's link is bad, but since you live in the US, this link may be more user friendly for you: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/viewtopic.php?t=16034

It's a little plugin that you install to automatically keep you EPG up to date. It's an excellent little side project by one of the developers, and quite a few of us are using it here successfully.

Today I wanted to check the Changelog for version 1.34 (1.31 installed on my system) and I was asked for a “Jira” login. I tried to use the same one as...

Good to hear you got it working.(y) I have attached a screenshot of my Power Scheduler settings and, yes my TV does stay off when a scheduled recording starts. Result, it works on the two PC's we use for watching TV :D I've not lost anything by the looks of it either, all channels etc still setup. Just my office PC won't connect, which I only use for testing things anyway (I tried updating that this morning as well), but I'll uninstall and install fresh on that. PS. Exported all settings...

@CyberSimian As I have just posted in the MP2 subforum I will stay with MP1 for the time being. Many thanks for all your very informative and detailed responses. I will take your advice and monitor the Scheduled recordings list for the discrepancies you have described. Cheers.

Most (all?) small PC cases accept only ITX motherboards, which have only one PCI-E slot. So you could install only one PCI-E tuner card. A quad-tuner card would give you four tuners, but if you wanted more tuners you would need to use the TBS eight-tuner card, or use external tuners, either USB tuners (available with single or dual...
