Re: AW: LifeTV is stuttering on some Channels

    Question for all of you:
    1. Record a show on a channel which givex you stuttering
    2. play this ts file in VLC
    3. does it stutter?

Also worth to try some other DVB application (with the same DVB card) to record a TS file and then play it with MP.

I also have problems with stutter since RC2. The problem occurs about every 10 minutes and it only occurs for about 1-2 sec.
There are no artefacts and it looks like the framerate drops for a short time.
The issue appears only on SD Channels and HD Channels with 1080i. For example the ORF HD channels with 720p are working fine.

I'm using Mediaportal quite a long time since MP 1.0 RC1 and I never had issues with stuttering SD channels, and I tested every MP Version which was officially released.

I can exclude bad signal, because I looked at the sat signal with a professional sat measurement device.
I'm currently not at home, so I can't provide logs.

With DVBViewer I see no issues. I will record a ts file with it and will play it in MP, like tourettes suggested.

    Here my first Test:
    Mittagsreport Wirtschaft - N24 - 2010-05-19.rar recorded in MP
    05-19 13-12-37_N24 Börse am Mittag.zip recorded in DVB-Viewer

    Both played in VLC:

    Mittagsreport Wirtschaft - N24 - 2010-05-19.rar stuttering

    05-19 13-12-37_N24 Börse am Mittag.zip OK

jof will test like tourettes suggested. I'm curious about it.

I have this same problem and i raported this since RC2 version. I have a artifacts and stutering in 1080 HD channel. 720 working ok. But I used MD-API filter and Tourretes write in my thread: "MD-API" not supported and in my case problem is with MD-API. I check in DVBViewer and all works fine. Today evening I check HD channel from Astra without mdapi and put logs

Such a nice lady, and then such stutter. :)

Tried playing here, is full of artifacts, freezing, skipping (with VLC) so it seems to be the writing side, not reading.

One thing you could try is to disable the CRC check from TVE3. It could be that DVB viever ignores that and the broadcaster is sending malformed packet checksums.

Isn't / shouldn't something like that be logged?

    How can i do this??

It took me some time, but i think he means the following:

TV Config -> DVB EPG and then unchecking the setting "Enable CRC checking".

I think that's only for EPG!

At my opinion tourettes meant the option don't drop discontinued packages....

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

According to Wikipedia, Windows only uses code pages other than UTF-8 to support legacy (mostly 32 bit) applications and supports two code pages in addition to UTF-8 (OEM and ANSI). According to Microsoft, UTF-8 has been the preferred character set since 2019. If TV Server (or its import routine) were using UTF-8, then umlauts...
