Hi
Is there any way to lock clients to specific TV groups. Such as hide "all Channel Group". This because I am running a TV server at home and have made different groups. Would like to controll what my local clients are watchinng.
I have a local release which support pin protection for groups. If you are ready to test it I can share it in my next public release. You can use it until an official release does not support it.
Only the group name is visible. When a client wants to switch to a protected group, a pin code will be asked from he. Similar to the pin protected folders in my video.
Thank you for the answer and also for your work on this feature. I think, it's something that many people have demanded.
Don't know if this is even technically possible, but in my opion it would be better if the locked channel group isn't visible until the pin is entered.
If you could make an explanation how it works and how to set it up, I would give it a try.
Love to try it out
Question, if a client types in the pin the first time he aksesses the chanel group, will the pin be rememberd the next time he accesess the group, or does he have to type inn pin everytime?
The user has to reenter the pin when he leaves the group. When the user leaves the tvplugin (navigates to an another plugin or exits from MP) and the last group was pin protected, the first unprotected group will be selected when he return in the tvplugin.
Thank you for this tip! I'm moving MP TV Server to a new machine. I installed the 64-bit version and most of the MP firewall rules were set to Public. I couldn't connect to the new TV Server from my old single-seat installation running 32-bit until I changed all MP-related firewall rules on the new machine to Private. Before I did...

According to Wikipedia, Windows only uses code pages other than UTF-8 to support legacy (mostly 32 bit) applications and supports two code pages in addition to UTF-8 (OEM and ANSI). According to Microsoft, UTF-8 has been the preferred character set since 2019. If TV Server (or its import routine) were using UTF-8, then umlauts...

I should point out that the developers have not formally left the project, and development has not formally stopped. The developers have instead simply "faded away", gradually spending less and less time on MP2 until the present, when they spend no time on MP2. But one or more of the developers might return next week! It is impossible...
