when i tried to stop playback the video was unresponsive.
what do you mean by "unresponsive" ?
myself, i have something, related to my Wireless keyboard, after a while, "B" (stop) shortcut don't respond, and need to use my remote, with proper "stop" button mapped to MP. i don't link to Madvr, but to MP in general ( but i remember fine, this one appear with video/movie )

Not sure what to say :( and hard to trace, MPC-HC work totally differently that MP and talk directly from C++ to C++ and MP not we have C# code and it sucks for that lol.
It can be some option from madVR / Delay related to C# vs C++ / Graphics drivers (but mos often always related to properly release madVR instance and related to C++ and C#) or B key not handle (but from keyboard, it will be very weird).

    Problem:
    1. MadVR displays fullscreen video in a window with a title bar and border.
    2. Need to alt+tab after starting video to watch the video.
Been using madvr with mpc-hc as external player for sometime. Thought i'd try the new internal madvr renderer. I get a black screen. Video starts but I have to alt+tab to get to it. The video fullscreen size but is windowed, see attached I'm guessing the problem is one of the renderering settings is not compatible with MP. BTW I use Win10 and I don't use any refreshrate change. Running the standard version of MP 1.6 Final with no modifications, recently upgraded from 1.5 Final version.

You can see in the 2nd video that MP is running 2x windows,

This is me pressing alt+enter to show it's not an alt+enter fullscreen issue.

And of course full debug watchlog log is always good to have :p (first option to avoid incompatibility with some plugins) :p

I see a 10-15ms larger rendering time from MediaPortal than when using PotPlayer & Madvr. Anyone else seen this?

Also, what is the "Use internal refresh rate" option?

Hello biship, i don't know nothing about the delay ,
But the option internal refresh rate, mean than the refresh is done by MP itself, and not by madvr.

    Ah ok, so either:
Disable refresh rate switcher in MP, and disable Internal Refresh rate (let Madvr switch)
Enable refresh rate switcher in MP, and enable Internal Refresh rate (Let MP set the rate for Madvr)

Is there an advantage to either option?

Yep, it's exactly the normal behavior, i think this option was included for solve issue on refresh rate not set by madvr, perso i use madvr refresh rate for video, and EVR for live tv.
The best, you need to test by yourself with your hardware.
    Good luck

Ok thanks, I'll test them out.

For some reason, even when playing 1080p content that requires no upscaling or processing, my rending time in MP is 40ms.
    In Potplayer it is 10ms.

For 720->1080, in MP render time is 85ms, regardless of upscaling type or other post processing, DIVX, NGU (low med high or VH).
In Potplayer is it 20-40ms for those various settings... much much faster.

I've tried so many madvr general settings (window mode, dx11 etc) and it makes no difference.

I just can't work out why MP->Madvr adds 40ms to 75+ms, which is so slow the render queue is almost always zero.
