To force video level expansion for SD you have to add the "UseBT601CSC"="1" registry key for the Catalyst display driver. Are you using the ATI DVI -> HDMI dongle?

problem solved.
I had an Ati 2600 PRO (dismissed) and now a 3850. there is 2 entry in registry 0000 and 0001. the last one 0001 is related to 3850

Yes I have the timeshift on the local disk now for testing, and it is the same. No error messages at all, just picture freeze. I can change channel, 4-5-6 seconds and suddenly freeze again.

Sounds like it's no related to timishifting problems then. I think I'd blame FireDTV-C now, is the problem with free or encrypted channels or both, can you try it without using Conax?

And what drivers and firmware are you using with FireDTV?

National chracters

Hi there, I have found an error in recorded tv filenames. When recording a programme with czech national characters like "ř" or "ě", the result is two different named files. .ts file's name is partially converted to us-ascii characters and .xml file is named correctly with. This error or bug prevents these recordings from being played and also setup-tv is reporting non-existing file when cleaning up deleted recordings. I am attaching an image listing bad recordings.

Same here - sometimes i channel switch does not switch to new channel - then i do a second channel change and it works.

I also have the problem that sometimes when switching channels, the image stays black. However i cant switch again. It simply seems to have frozen. The only thing that works is to shut down MediaPortal via my shortcut-key on the remote (where i also hear the standard MediaPortal click sound, so it hasn't frozen completely). I am using ffdshow on Vista x64 with newest Catalyst.

TV Server stops?

Strange things happening:

Did a clean install of RC1 and SVN. Everything (TV, music, radio, DVD) seems to be running nicely. However, after some time of working with MP, TVServer appears to die. Problem can be illustrated in conjunction with playing Music.

1. Launch MP and start TV -> everything is OK
2. Change to Music and listen to 1-2 songs.
3. Change back to TV. TV comes on -> everything i still OK
4. Change to Music and play some 5-8 songs
5. Change to TV -> Music stops playing and two overlapping frames appear, but TV screen is not coming up.

MP now hangs and can only be terminated by killing the task.
TV Server is also behaving strangely as the service cannot be terminated anymore (error message like "Service not replying")

The recording path definition in TV Service configuration is suddenly ignored and recordings are made into All Users\...\recordings. Reboot does not change this anymore! Last time when this occurred I had to do a complete reinstall. Don't know how often I have installed this program now...

TV error log shows SQL database connection issues. Has anybody come across the same phenomenon?

Dual Languages in same Audio Stream

Hi,

I've have a few channels that broadcasts multi-language in the same audio stream by putting them in a left/right channel of the stereo stream. Is this currently supported by the tvserver ?? ... Is there a setting I have missed ... it's quite annoying to have 2 languages at the sametime.

Nope not supported in current TV Server.

Can not find the Deamon tool settings anymore, is it taken out of MP. Can not play my movies anymore.

Hi,

concerning my problems with analog tv scanning (some posts ago) I now reinstalled everything from scratch without any changes The scanning of analog tv starts i see the progress bar running to the end and thats it no locking of tuner nore a channel that is found. Furthermore after such an unsuccessful scann I can't change (gui) the Konfig. page e.g. when I then change to "TV Channels" the analog scanning page is still there. And even my imported analog channels do not work anymore as before

Everything else is working very good (Scanning of DVBS too!
