Just a suggestion for BasicHome... Is there any way of having an adjustable alpha level (transparency) for the menu strip so that we can see the FanArt behind it? I can see with the Wall-E example on the previous page it works out well, but if you were using any number of wallpapers they would be either cut-off or resized depending on how you've set it.

I could probably include a more transparent texture as an option, im also thinking of moving the menu plus the graphic further to the left.

Mattsk: Please stay true too the original.. It should be as close to a 1:1 port as possible. But as we have a lot of fanart people around here (you included ), you should create extra xml's in the release that shows off fanart, or even create a mod that focus on fanart.

I think the basichome looks like it should now I've been trying to figure out how to fade text there tho, but haven't figured out any way to do it like in the original. Would probably need some sort of overlay that could go on top of labels. So it would probably require a code change/addition? As now labels are on top no matter what?

A nice guide with a list (and picture) of each alternate screen is going to be needed I think - so people can mix and match their theme!

I'm going to be packing the skin up with an installer to make it a bit more user friendly, what is probably going to happen is users will be able to choose whether they want the original version or the version that focuses a bit more on fanart with a click of a button in the installer, as both will be packaged together. Should keep everyone happy

In regards to basichome I can probably add the menu positioning and transparency as an option with the menu generator.

What was the decision on the Basic Home VS Home? Are they both pretty identical? If so I may go for the Home screen and see if I can configure it how I want, if not i'll go for Basic Home!

They look pretty similar, Basichome looks better as there is a bigger bolder font for the selected item (looks much nicer). Basichome has the advantage of being able to name the menu items whatever you want to call them, Basichome also has user configurable background pictures. But both menus will be functional but I know what I'd be using.

which in the zip, psycho included all the modified/original skin stuff, along with screenies and you chose what setup you wanted to keep.

for example someone might want in TV series the fanart approach but in moving pictures the original approach or vice versa.

Sounds good! I may have to take a look at the MP source once released and apply a small hack to get rid of the Home then and just use Basic Home! (As two similar Home screens will ruin the WAF! )
