Mini Display Plugin (2 Viewers)

Hi,
My hd44780 display shows corrupted/garbage text after I move from one menu to the other from the main MP screen (from videos, to music for example)
the display at that point is always showing wierd characters instead of the song/movie etc, etc title/messages.
I just did a fresh install of xp 32, MP 1.02 and I'm using the latest Xface skin. I tried with both hd44780 drivers available in the plugin configuration to no avail.
Any idea what I can look for ?

can anyone upload minidisplaylibrary.dll from MP1.0.2 , i used disaster's patched version and it makes the MP Configuration crash whenever i try to config the external display.

EDIT: It was crashing bc his patched version was designed for MP1.1Alpha. All working now, thank you.

I also have problems with my 4x20 hd44780 display in MP 1.1.0 beta1 from 29-08-2009.
It used to work in 1.0 RC3/4, and it also works well in LCD Smartie.


The text is corrupted as some characters are missing when testing from the configuration tool.
LCDHypeWrapper.SetLine(): Line 0 - Message = "MiniDisplay" becomes "MinDspa"
LCDHypeWrapper.SetLine(): Line 1 - Message = "hd44780" becomes "d470"

I'm using the HD47780 or compatible driver

Hi, can I ask a question about how to get MiniDisplay plugin to work with my vfd over here?
I have an Ahanix MCE-302 case, which has a 2x16 lines Samsung VFD, connected to the LPT1 port. I'm running Vista x64 and have run into some trouble to get the right I/O for parallel port, but I've downloaded this InpOut32.dll: http://www.highrez.co.uk/scripts/download.asp?package=InpOutBinaries and managed to get LCDSmartie to work. In LCDSMartie, I've selected HD44780.dll as plugin.

Now I've copied the InpOut32.dll file to the MediaPortal main folder and tried to setup MiniDisplay, but I can't get it working. (No characters at all). I've selected numerous drivers, including the HD44780 and Samsung serial/parallel driver, but nothing works. Am I overlooking something?

I still haven't figured this one out, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hi, I am trying to get MiniDisplay working on my htpc with antec fusion black lcd, but I keep getting this error message when I try to save the settings in the configurator:
"Failed to locate assembly:TVCapture, Version=0.9.4.27635, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null"

I had CybrDiplay before upgrading to MediaPortal 1.1 (from 1.0), and it worked fine.

just go to mediaportal configuration -> plugins -> click on minidisplay and click enable

@sherlocks: I've had almost the same Problems. Have you renamed the InpOut32.dll in to DLPortIO.dll before you moved it into Mediaportal?
