    Cool.

But can you please test a few things for me too?

    1. When you configure the "close on exit" does this work for you? i mean if you close Mediaportal does it clean the Display or is still something written in the Display?
    2. I have some strange signs in the Display sometimes. Most after a resume. It seems that in the past SVN from 10.10.09 its fixed but not here.
    Hi Nero,
@1.: Nope, when I close MediaPortal, it still shows "MediaPortal" and the time.
@2.: I haven't noticed any strange signs or characters in the display.

@2: I've noticed some weird random charcaters as well now.

    Hi,
My hd44780 display shows corrupted/garbage text after I move from one menu to the other from the main MP screen (from videos, to music for example)
the display at that point is always showing wierd characters instead of the song/movie etc, etc title/messages.
I just did a fresh install of xp 32, MP 1.02 and I'm using the latest Xface skin. I tried with both hd44780 drivers available in the plugin configuration to no avail.
Any idea what I can look for ?
    Thanks in advance.

My parallel display shows garbage as well for almost a year now. Before people reported it I was quite convinced that the display itself was broken. However - static text (like the test in configuration.exe) will be displayed okay.

Does anyone have backup of previous MediaPortal release which could indicated when the problem began?

It seems there's a problem with windows7/imon manager when you don't hide systray icons. When minidisplay restarts imon manager, the taskbar steals focus, and mediaportal is no longer in the foreground making video playback stutter. This is with the latest svn and using coreavc. I changed win7 to hide the systray icon for it, and this fixed the problem.

uhm, can someone tell me which display setup type i have to choose in the minidisplay setup for my zalman 160xt case(display) ?

the plugin before build into svn was working well but eating all the time 50% cpu even on idle machine.

but i cannot use the "new" minidisplay. every configuration i try will result in not working. I have to select the "IRtrans lcd/vfd driver" or is that incorrect for the hd160xt case? (rev2)

    any zalman case users?

    thanks!

    Hi patapouf74,

What I gathered from my answer was that the device is not supported because minidisplay guys consider it a primarily TOUCH device and will not consider it for supporting. I would, however, ask them to reconsider that and enable at least the DISPLAY possibility for that 7" model.

I think that the next major release of the iMON software will support mediaportal and hopefully our problems will be resolved :)

I have the same problem. In last march i sent a post about this problem,

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-display-plugin-48132/index21.html#post389535

but i didn't have any answer.

Ripk seems to have the same problem as us. He had an answer but without solution.:(

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-display-plugin-48132/index26.html#post408584

Yesterday i tried with the latest version of MP 1.1 beta release with the latest SVN but the problem persist.

It's a strange problem. In my case, it's not seem recognize the display type but i don't understand why.

Until yesterday, i used the touchscreen plugin and it worked well.

I hope somebody will find a solution or can help us.

Follow is a part of my log file.

I have an Antec case with IMon display. I have setup MiniDisplay (selected Soundgraph / selected SG_VDF.dll) and after pressing "Test display" the display works fine and shows "MiniDisplay/iMonLCDg". But If I start Mediaportal the LCD display shows nothing!

So only the "Test display" button works for me but in Mediaportal itself it does not work. The Log shows the Minidisplay plugin is loaded properly. But it won't display anything.

looks like the latest imon manager update broke functionality with minidisplay. Don't update if you can help it.

    Hello again,

I haven't been able figure out why my vfd updates only once every 8 seconds. This is really annoying me, because it's the last thing wrong with my setup. Today I was fiddling with the minidisplay plugin and changed the number of columns from 16 to 18 just for the hell of it. Unbelievebly it started updating at normal rate! Of course the characters started to go wrong because it was sending 18 characters to a 16 character display, but something happened to solve the updating problem. I have enclosed two sets of logs: 1st with 16 columns and 2nd with 18 columns. I hope someone could finally solve my last (for the time being:rolleyes:) problem.

Thanks to anyone giving it a look.

Yes, the latest Update for IMon does not work with MP1.0.2. Downgraded to previous release of IMon, and everything works again. Will there be a fix, until the new stable MP is out?
