Are you using FTR (For The record)?

I have the same issue, but it only appeared after changing to FTR (I think). Would be interested to see if you are, or are not using FTR.

this only affects live TV.

I am hopefully waiting for the "native support" plugin to see if this problem is resolved, before trying to identify where the problem is. Maybe then we will not need the soundgraph drivers.

Using StreamedMP, but dont think the problem is there!

    Peter,

    No I'm not using FTR.

Using graphical text only, the other thing I notice is that the display will resort back to the current TIME as if it times out.
Other times it will stay showing the current channel. I think, if the channel name is long enough causing the display to scroll then it doesn't go back to TIME.

My opinion - It's Alpha code and it needs looked at.

    Ian.

    Interesting and thanks.

Will still wait for next version of Minidisplay that uses the soundgraph API, and see if this resolves problem.

At least it rules out a FTR problem which is where my suspisions pointed.

    AW: Re: Mini Display Plugin

Thanks!...........I downgraded to iMON_7_77_1022_01 and now have it working with MP.

Update: Seems to be a bug though, if I change channel then the mini-display seems to remain at the previous channel. Press INFO button seems to force a refresh though.

Hmmm, I'm starting to get a bit peeved at this whole MP/Soundgraph issue......why can't it just be fixed once and for all. Imagine having to roll back to old drivers just to get it working!

    Ian.

same here with the mediaportal tv client. Currently testing around with 4TR(great tuner, but other issues), there the minidisplay plugin doesn't work correctly, so I disabled the plugin.

Hi, i have found a behaviour the display switches on while a scheduled recording is running. When i move the mouse around, the display switches on. Normally i use the remote with iMon software to control the HTPC. iMon sends the keypresses to MP but it is a HID one, so not all buttons are handled through iMon. Maybe that is helpful finding the bug in detecting user actions.

Perhaps someone can throw some light on this one. I am not really bothered about the imon VFD display, as I cannot read it across the room anyway. Rather than use the ugly external MCE receiver, it would be nice to just use the MCE remote with the inbuilt IR and Imon running. I had assumed that if I setup mepo to use the MCE remote and disabled minidisplay it would just be seen as an MCE remote on the usb port. I realise that it would need settinig up for the key translation in Imon, but I am not sure if these need to be mapped to windows rather than mepo. Having a little difficulty with this, any comments would be most appreciated.

First you need to set up Imon to be compatible with MCE remote, as by default it is set for Imon remotes.

You also need to configure it for use with media portal, there are a few sources for the settings around including the Imon website, I could send my settings, but I am away from home for a few days.

Finaly Imon does not send "remote" signals to media portal, but rather "Key strokes". You need to map the MCE remote commands to Media Portal key strokes inside Imon.

Imon will also send the key stroke to the "active " window, or to "Windows", so make sure you disable all windows mapping in Imon if they are also used in MediaPortal, and keep MediaPortal "always on top".

    regards

    Thanks for the advice guys,

Have decided to use the MCE receiver after all, it just works. May try something like frontview at some point, but it is only a case of having the display and putting it to some use. Will also check out IRSS, sounds useful.

Just been checking out IRSS, not too clear if it is supposed to work with the with built in vfd ir receiver, or does it need the imon device driver installing as well. If it will not work with the built in receiver, there seems little point in using it as the standard MCE remote and receiver does a great job. I suppose it would be useful to make use of the display, even if only to show the time. Could it be that if I only installed the device driver through windows that mepo's minidisplay would be able to operate it, or is that expecting too much. I guess if that would work, the standard MCE remote and usb rx could be used alongside. I had thought of using just the driver and frontview, but I think that this only works in WMC. I seem to be reading more and more conflicting views and am now thoroughly confused on the whole issue. I guess suck it and see is probably the best approach, although I wont be able to fiddle around until the weekend.
