AW: Mini Display Plugin

Hi,

I am a happy owner of a "Antec Fusion Remote" case. Today I wanted to do some changes in the MiniDisplay Configuration Editor. I just wanted to make the display showing the name of the current radio station displayed in one line centered on the display. So I changed the PlayingRadio:

Playing Radio
|- Windows (no changes here)
|- LINE Alignment = Centered
|-Property: #Play.Current.Title

But now Mediaportal crashes every time I click on a Radio station. I know that this code couldn't be right, so I want to undo these changes, but I've forgotten the previous settings. It isn't possible for me to set the default setting (the reset button also can't do). I couldn't find any guide for this. So could anybody help me by posting the default setting of the PlayingRadio part, please?

sry for my bad English

edit: I solved the problem by rebooting the system *rolleyes*

Hi all, I have a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo C, a computer made by MSI for FSC, The display is using the same commands as the MSI MegaPC i think, at least with the software for the MSI barebone it shows lots of info when using windows media center.

Anyway, I have found a list of commands for this display and i can confirm that it works by testing them in the configuration dialog, using generic serial characther... and then using different commands from the list I've found for initializing the display under advanced settings then hitting the test display button. This makes the display show what it should but how to get this to work for real?

I have searched for som kind of manual how to set up the generic serial thingy but havent found anything.

Here is the list of commands and a short description of how it works pasted from fujitsu forum where i found this;

I have found the way to Scaleo C LCD display ussage. Its easy (dear Watson ). LCD display and front keys are connected to COM2 (/dev/ttyS1 in Linux). Speed 19200/8/1. Commands are in binary format, some examples (in hex):

AA 02 30 0x 55 x=1..8 enabling icons (TV/CD/Movie/Radio/Pic..)
AA 02 30 00 55 - switch off main part of display

AA 03 40 xx xx 55 - show clock (four digits at the left)

AA 03 50 0x xx 55 - show chapter nr (3 digits in the midle)

AA 04 90 xx xx xx 55 - show value (6 digits)

AA 04 A0 0x xx xx 55 - show play time (5 digits and ':' ex. 1:05:20)

AA 02 80 0x 55 - show volume (x=0..F)
AA 02 E0 A0 55 - hide volume

AA 02 70 0x 55 - show mode (x=0..5)
AA 02 E0 30 55 - hide mode

AA 02 60 09 55 - show Autosearch
AA 02 60 14 55 - hide Autosearch
AA 02 60 10 55 - show Rec
AA 02 60 11 55 - hide Rec

AA 03 B0 0y xx 55 - show cpu/sys status (y=0..3)

Keys sendings the same codes - Its easy to record them

In Windows COM2 is taken by MSI SCM - if You want to make Your own LCD panel application, You must close MSI process.

Mini Display Plugin & Scaleo E

Hi, I am in the midle of building a HTPC using the scaleo E case. MP is my media software of choice but I am struggling with the minidisplay. I have configured it to use the scaleo EV option on LPT1. Tested fine - despite no drivers installed.

Subsequent reboot - it doesnt work. Checking it out with the minidisplay configure I get this in the log:

2515 [Debug][Config Main(1)]: OutputReportByteLength = 9

2011-04-06 20:02:20.208115 [Debug][Config Main(1)]: WriteFile Result = Cannot create a file when that file already exists.

If I install drivers and then uninstall it sometimes works for a while but after a reboot no joy - nothing gets displayed.

Any ideas or is this time for a bug report :)

cheers

It works with the current iMON software. However, it's only for VFD so far. But I'm planning to implement LCD support, too.

If everything works fine for you, I would not change anything either.

The plug-in targets MediaPortal users like me (noobs ;) ). I had the current iMON software installed and tried to get the VFD working in MediaPortal. Took me hours to figure out what to do... And after I got it working with MiniDisplay and iMON Manager 7.77, MediaPortal always lost focus on start-up...
