I'm having odd problems with mytvseries plugin. Currently I am using this 3216 version of mytvseries, but this exact same behavior occured with the earlier 2.0 non-svn build also. Media portal is the RC3 version.
Anyway the problem is that randomly when playback of an episode has been started the episode plays nicely, but for a random amount of time (ranging from few seconds to even 15 minutes or more) Media portal does not respond to any commands from any input (keyboard, mouse or remote).

Also during this freeze period no video times are shown in my htpc's front lcd (Matrix orbital display configured to work via the external display plugin). After the freeze is over time codes appear to the display and media portal once again responds to commands.

Any ideas as to what might cause this?

ps. I will add logs later today once i get home

Have to admit, I'm noticing the same problem, with some of my larger episodes (particularly stuff in x264), not sure if it is tvseries, or mediaportal thats at fault though. Will have to check myself.

im also on: MP-TVSeries-2.0.3216, but this issue here i did have also in version 2.0

Sometimes it goes Blue, sometimes black, sometimes nu banner, no test.
And its always after i have play a episode.

    Then MP will act strange...
(Sometimes it goes Blue, sometimes black, sometimes nu banner, no test)

And when it dos this, its not only in TVseries, if i click back to home screen or try to go other places, it will do this..
whan its black, i can hear, the clicks, when i use the remote.
and i can count my way to Exit, and MP wil exit, so its running, but just Black or Blue, or no tekst, or all together.

im using alternative imageloade process, or no banner will happen all the time.
    im using indego skin 2.2
    See the logs attached

Also about what show you have selected, please look at my image. i had to manipulate it a bit in photoshop to show you, as i did a remote off the htpc to make screenshot, it change the aspect, screen resolution.
but the image is how it looks on my 42" plasma..
The selection is to weak to see, i would love to see you make this MUCH more noticeable. its hard to see what show is selected..

Finlay ill tell you, thanks for a great plug in i love it.. its one of the reasons why i use MP and not XBMC..
    Thanks m8

I may be seeing a similar issue, though I'm not sure if its TVSeries related or Media Portal itself.

I've been able able to reproduce the following every time:

If I filter the series list by Unwatched, go into a series list with one episode, watch that episode and exit out, rather than returning to series banner, the episode list window will be stuck displaying. I can still hear the GUI sound files playing as if I'm able to scroll around the series banner list and if I bring up a context menu it corrects itself and displays the correct window. I did not see this reproducible behavior in the 2.0 build but on occasion I would get these stuck windows when moving around the interface.

The other issue I'm having with this build is a delay I am seeing loading and displaying fanart. I understand some loading optimization went into this build but moving into a window with fanart was instantaneous for me with the old build. Now I'm seeing a 0.5-1 second delay before fanart is loaded and displayed.

Is there any specific reason to why I don't seem to get any banners? Is it a problem on thetvdb side?

This is translation for MediaPortal, and not the plugin. You should post that in the MediaPortal bugs forum/tracker.

The latest translations for the plugin are located: mptvseries - Google Code

If you want to update a specific language then please download the corresponding one from above and post back with modifications.

Note: The English translations are always kept up to date, so if you want something translated for the next release then be sure to match up with 'en(us).xml'

If you want to update the name of the plugin (from the looks of the translation above), go into Configuration->MediaPortal Display Control->Name of Plugin in Home

    Cheers,
    Damien

    * Label 1242 <type>label</type>: If series posters are being used, will be visible (otherwise using series banners)
Since you can't use visibility on the facade how would this be implemented? Having 2 different skins files for each does not sound so cool.
Well, that shows you how much I know about skinning. I thought you could do that, so I might as well remove that label?
A filmstrip for posters would be pretty cool. ;) Then I could have this view without pressing down and going the the views-context menu pressing to far left/right. :)
That looks quite cool, but I do prefer your list one better. ;)

Looking at how the plugin handles views currently, I think what I can do without introducing too much risk is add the FilmStrip View. How I think it should work:

If 'Wide Series Banners' are chosen (default) & Series View is set to Graphical (default): Show Wide Banners as we currently do using (GUIFacadeControl.ViewMode.LargeIcons)

If 'Posters' are chosen & Series View is set to Graphical (Default): Show Posters using (GUIFacadeControl.ViewMode.FilmStrip)

From that, you should be able to continue using the dummy labels (List:1235) & (Graphical:1236) without any extra ones needing to be defined. You would need two skin files though as you mentioned.

Im pretty sure you can already do Posters with Series View set to Text List. I see you have raised an issue regarding 'unfocusedalpha' in series list. I see from screenshots how using that would be what you want.

Just to add to this, would it also be easy to allow fanart to be displayed on the main page as at the moment a messy memory hog hack is used to get the terminator fanart behind the info in that poster view?

Im not sure about easy, will have to debug and see what goes on during series selection. I thought I saw code already that handled this...maybe Im wrong or its just not working as expected. I will add it if it doesnt look too risky ;)
