Since my newer NAS and, also because I use more and more your MP TVS plugin, I think about something :
When we have a NAS with power down/up/WOL possibilities, the TVS plugin has (in my own poor POV) a limitation.

Example (with NAS powered off) :
Go in TVS plugin :



Try to play a serie :


This is correct and at least, inform user that file is not available.

But in MP MyVideos plugin, when unavailable :



And, if click on, NAS start a WOL process :



For finally, giving files available (look at the "blue" icon instead of "red") :


And, can be at the end, played :



What do you think about this idea ? (I mean ability to manage WOL for the MP TVS plugin (and may be for MovPics plugin too))

I think it’s a very good idea, not something I would need, but I can certainly see the value for other users.

Changes were made quick and dirty, hardcoded settings and so on....
Now it's clean.
I have added an option disabled by default :



I recovered MP settings.
OFC, the WOL need to be correctly made in MP MyVideos plugin.
If it doesn't work there before, it will not work in MP TVS :



Attached is a .diff file and also the .dll in .rar file, if you want to test.
It is working for me as shown on pictures in previous post.

The fact MediaPortal itself has that WOL setting that is set to "Yes" in your example, that might be enough to adopt as the setting for within MP-TVSeries, but the added level of control is always welcome, because maybe you want to respect that MediaPortal WOL setting inside MyVideos, but not inside MP-TVSeries.

Well, I managed the "2 différents supports" for films and tv-series.
No need to wake up NAS if séries are elsewhere.

Hi just notice a issuse with playlist they dont save ie you click save and name the playlist it all looks fine to you exit mediaportal (by the way the playist has saved into the playlist folder in my documents) then load it up goto playlist it says no playlist saved .. hoping someone can help or fix it cheers

Hello @ltfearme. I'm the founder and currently lead developer of TheTVDB. I wanted to eliminate some confusion and reach out to you with an offer. Well over 95% of our API users that had free access to the legacy APIs will continue to have free access to the new one, without needing a subscription. Some of that is the result of commercial licensing deals (as with Plex) and some is the result of us offering free or nearly-free attribution access, primarily to systems like Kodi, Sonarr, etc. Subscriptions will be focused entirely almost on commercial projects that would rather have their users pay for access than for them to work out licensing terms directly. This was created specifically for systems like VideoStation, since Synology doesn't want to put any resources behind their support for it.

So all that said, we're happy to offer a free license to you. Had I seen it come through our API key approvals I would have approved it outright. I know attribution is difficult in plugins, so it's up to you how to determine if that's possible. Perhaps update the first post in this thread saying "TV data provided by TheTVDB. Please consider supporting them." with a link to our subscription page? Again, that's not a requirement, just a request.

If you'd like to get a v4 API key so you can start making use of the updated API, please create a new API key on our site and choose "Negotiated Contract". Once we see it come through we can just approve it. If you've already started moving code to TMDB I understand as well, and wish you the best. My offer will remain open so you can change your mind at any point. If you have any questions, let me know.
