    @HTPCSourcer
    I see he has

If you like, point me to the same installer for this and I will do a clean install of it and then try the MP2.1 install on top...
Maybe we can see more with my testing

I feel honored - but I have absolutely no clue which package this corresponds to. @morpheus_xx , any chance to verify if this is the original Spring '16 install package that was used?

So it seems the installer/s think that the Spring Release is Newer than 2.1

Doing an upgrade from Spring Release using the Installer Bat file.....

Also found that if I use my script to uninstall the Spring Release with the 2.1 setup.exe, it fails.
I had to move the 2.1 installer out and bring the Spring Release back in to get it to uninstall

Sigh, I always wanted to design a new I nstaller GUI. So that's something to add to the task.

It is weird though as we did test this behavior and found it to be OK. I'll do a bug report later + Jira.

Having the same problem: 2.1 installer thinks Spring Release is newer: "Error 0x80870666: Cannot install a product when a newer version is installed". Actually my whole log file looks reads nearly identical to the paste above.

What steps have you guys already done and did they work?

Thanks for quick response and Happy New Year!

For record I just tried to download/run Spring16 installer and "repair" the current installation of 2.0, restart, run the 2.1 installer. Latter still thought 2.0 was newer than 2.1.

    Uninstalled 2.0, installing 2.1 now.

Spending NYD installing tv cards again, what fun lol

If you saved the old ProgramData\Team MediaPortal, you should be able to preserve the EPG.

Which file(s) depends which EPG you're using, though I found switching from webepg to xmltv was worth the pain...

I had to uninstall, rename ProgramData\Team MediaPortal, delete ProgramFiles (x86)\Team MediaPortal, reboot and then install & configure.

Exporting settings before uninstall and importing after install didn't preserve all setting (especially client).

I'll get out of the way of the experts at this point.

@breese , do you still have your Spring '16 installed?
What version number are its log files reporting?

@tlhackque , if you still have your old (renamed) Team MediaPortal folder, you could take a look at the log directory of the client or server and look into the server log for the version number.
