i dont even get that, i get a totally blank disc. I think the problem is in making the iso image file, see my selected files to be burned get copied ok into the folder i set in the plugin config screen, but i never saw an iso image file. btw, how is the image file created to be burned?

Update [3/4/2008]:
I tried everything manually like in the log:
1. copied the files into the temp folder
2. made the iso file with mkisofs.exe and the parameters given in the log file (iso file was created with no problem)
3. burned the dvd with dvdburn and same arguments like in log file (data dvd was burned with no problem)

still, from within MP, it can't make the iso file and therefore does not go into the burn step.

i have attached the logfiles. hope anyone can help out .. :D

btw: i made a data cd and it all worked no problem, but data dvd soemthing is not clicking right here :)

OK :) Finally got it to write a data dvd, but there is a trick to it:
1. Leave files on drive (this has to be checked otherwise obviously the files are deleted before the iso file is made .. i guess)
2. Rename the file names to a limited number of characters (i did not manage yet to find out how many, but my first try - i was tryin to record some divx movies and all of them where cut at different positions, so really there wasn't a number of char's to say one could stop at. but then i renamed the files with the most of them had 22 chars, and it all worked fine)

I hope this can help someone to look at the plugin (which i don't know if the source is available or not) and maybe fix these bugs

Ok, also finally got a video DVD burned.
see megacrypto tip #1 !!! Really needed!

3. Make sure drive letter in Burner config is specified with colon ("X:" in my case).

Installed My Burner as required. Downloaded needed support files inc DVDBurn.exe.

Ran Burner from Home menu. Clicked Video DVD. Navigated to my recordings folder. Nothing.

Is this correct?

No recorded files to burn

If you don't see any of you recorded files in My Burner, you need
to convert them to mpeg first. TV recordings by Mediaportal are in DVR-MS format.
You can convert them with the "Compress" function of Media Portal.
After this they are in MPEG format, same quality as far as I can see. Now they show up
in the burn menu. This issue has been discussed elsewhere also.

Hi,

I tried your tips, but that didn't work for me...
I set "keep temp files" and drive letter with colon, and none of the files hat more than 22 chars.
I tried both "Data DVD" and "Video DVD".
It says converting creating DVD files and so on... and after this it says instantly Data/Video DVD completet.
At the end there are no files on the DVD.

Are there any more settings that could work for me?

thx

My burner go or no go

Sorry to hear this is still not a complete hints and tips set. I've been for days
where you are now.
Another hint I got is that you need losts of free space (~ 5 Gb) on the partition where
your Temp is (default C: ??!!!). I had to move mine to a data partition.
The point with My Burner is that apparently setting are very critical. Also there
is no clear message in case of an error...

Hi,

I set my system TEMP folders on an other disk with much more freespace, but no improvements.
So I tried user temp folders but same problem.

Did you ment system temp or is there an option to change a temp-folder for mediaportal?

thx

My Burner settings

Temp storage for My Burner is set by a separate item. To change this, go to:

- Media Portal Configuration
- Plugins
- My Burner
- Configuration
- Select temp path {2nd line on this screen}

This is where de DVD image is created before it is burned.

Yeah thanks
This folder I already had set.
But I recognized that I had the wrong drive letter, so I set the correct one.

Now DVD starts burning but only forn about 10 sec than "DVD burning is completed".
This can't be correct because there are abou 3GB to burn.
So I get a DVD with the actual date.
When I open the disk via windows explorer, I see that there are the files I let him burn with the correct name, filesize,...
But ofcourse I'm not able to open the files correctly.
I think there are just indexfiles burned...

Anyone got some ideas for this behaviour?

thx
