Yeah it's really a waste of energy
You could have made the Nas Drive, Webserv, Printserv & TVServ as one unit...Would be more efficient!
Then you could use the CPU of your Laptop for virtualizing.
A web server should be run dedicated in a DMZ or you risk exposing your network. Search DMZ to learn more.
You would not want to combine the TV server with a NAS drive because that would actually waste energy. To save energy the TV server should be configured to shutdown when not in use. Mine only runs 5 hours per day.
The NAS drive needs to be available 24x7 which is why I have chosen a low power consumption unit.
The print server, yes that could be considered a waste. But again, an extremely low power consumption unit is being used here. In fact, by not attaching it to a PC I am saving energy by not having to turn on that PC just for printing.
In addition, our PCs and laptops all shut themselves down at night and sleep during the day when not in use. The other items, digital frame, game console, etc, only run when being used (family members are well trained). So sure, when you look at the big picture it looks like a lot, but in reality, if you are energy conscious, you can really minimize consumption to the point the extra for a setup like this is negligible.
What a geek teaser.
I have to know more...Do you have a detailed device listing (manufacture/model#/customization?
What security system and does it log events on a PC, any web cams.
Have you thought about adding an asterisk server? Integrate land lines/SIP phones etc. Massively configurable voice attendant.
What terminal is that?

Can you use RemoteDesktop from the laptop to the TVserver & WebServer instead of the KVM switch/Monitor/Mouse/Keyboard?
How about adding your media controller for the HTPC - is it MCE remote?
