Ooook a bit closer

Ok I am a bit closer and I also realize I have posted this in the wrong forum. Oh well.
anyway, first problem was a missing ehome tranciver XML file. Found a copy and installed it on the pc. Remote is partly working.
Up, down, left, roight and ok buttosn are not working.
When I read the mediaportal log its clear that these buttons are not mapped.
I checked the xml file and confirmed that they ar enot typically mapped as it is handled by the OS according to the MCE xml file...so I am at a lose..any help would be appreciated.

fixed.
I copied the mapping form another xml file and viola, the device works..go figure

I think you just need to enable the remote in the media portal configuration.
From memory I think it is down the bottom under keyboard/remote.
Select MCE remote if this is the one you have.
good luck

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

There seems to be an ongoing problem that some users have when trying to install MP 1.36. I regret that I do not know the cause of this problem, and so cannot suggest a solution. However, I can suggest a workaround that (hopefully) will work for you. The workaround is to: Completely uninstall MP, MySQL, and MariaDB. Perform a...

Thanks very much, Jasmeet. Worked. But note that this setting has moved, apparently, to: Settings > TV (not Plugins)
