hafblade you don't like this ?

For me is the (one of the) best solution, because i don't use database, no maintenance in MP database, all is directly changed on PC. the minor enhancement are many work for Mp1.3. (as support poster & thumb list directly on network share).
And i think have the "same" format, that XBMC. is not a defect ....
and with the new generation of pico-pc, as Raspberry-PI to support XbMC, i think many user can have, MP(living room) & XBMC(room) in HOME ...

Raspbery Pi is pretty terrible for XBMC... u know this dont you?

also it will never support Windows! (which is required for MP)

the StreamedMP skin for mediaportal 1 had a great layout that includes fanart, nfos, subtitle support, banners, plot/actor/directors etc, and a lot more info ive not really seen done well anywhere else for the movingpictures plugin and mytvseries plugin

its desparately needed in the core of MP2 .. and with this centralized database .. u no longer have to rebuild a database(hours of painful work) when u format ur PC or move files off a drive.

really hit this one out of the park peeps

    Hi,
just for information on raspberry site :
Will it run the new Windows 8 ARM version?
We are not partners with Microsoft, and their support would be required for porting Windows 8.

    Wait & See

    Hi everybody,

I first have to apologize for not showing up so long - but real live work is eating me up atm. Nevertheless I try to follow whats going on via forum and git. Now I found the time to compile the movie and series branch and this is just WOWWW!!! I just added my movies folder as new share and it just worked out of the box - amazing...
I had some difficulties with some of the movie covers not showing up and sometimes it took really long (like 5-10 seconds) until a backdrop was shown, but this may be related to me using a virtual machine with very limited dx capabilities. I will file proper bug reports as soon as the real live calms down a little bit (hopefully over the next weeks)

As a side note, I always wondered what the "intended" way is to implement a music cd cover lookup on the server side and providing the covers to the client side - now that I saw the FanArtService and the OnlineLibrary I understood how easy it is, if you know how ;) I thought about integrating something like this for music cd covers: http://sourceforge.net/projects/album-art/ They use "boo"-scripts, which are compiled at runtime. Looks somehow strange to me, but hey why reinvent the wheel if they already have scripts for every source of covers you can imagine... This in combination with a CD ripper and a MusicBrainz-lookup makes me dream: When you bought a new CD, insert it to MP2, it looks up the CD at MusicBrainz, gives you a choice of high quality covers and then just asks you whether you want to integrate it into your music library as MP3 or FLAC files. No more manual tagging.... ok, enough dreams, let's see when my real live gives me the chance to try to make it reality :)

    Keep up the excellent work!
    Michael

    Hi.
I can't wait to get hands on Alpha2. Looks as if I can swap over from 1.x then...
