I am trying to setup the TV server but when I do the test it say it cannot connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts. Any reply would be most helpful.

Default settings:
host name = name of computer you installed TV Server on (*not* localhost or 127.0.0.1)
database name = default is MpTvDb
user name = root
password = MediaPortal
If you installed MySQL by yourself then you have to make sure you give the root user all the privileges on the database schema and allow connections from the local machine through TCP/IP. If you don't know what that means then best to let MP install and configure MySQL for you.
