Hello again Josue
You need to create one file per recording you want to import.
When you scan in your Channels [with a CableCARD tuner], TV Server should automatically pick up the channel names and numbers.
Normally only the channel names are visible in the guide. If you want to see the channel numbers as well then you need to make some tweaks to MediaPortal configuration.
For an explanation of what these settings do:

No, I'm pretty sure the database import allows you to import WTV file details.
Maybe, because if the recordings are DRM'd (ie. copy protected) then they can't be played except by WMC on the PC that recorded them or by a WMC extender. Needless to say, I'm not a fan of DRM.
I know you found the file now, but for the benefit of other people that might read this thread in the future: the XML files are created in the same folder as the recording (TS) files.Ok thanks! I recorded one show with tvserver to see where the .xml recording database would show up but I can't find it.. Any tips?
XML files are text files. That means they can be opened and edited in any text editor (notepad, wordpad etc.).And how can I edit it (recorded tv .xml) to include the WMC recordings?

Indeed. Unfortunately I don't have time to implement such an idea. Too many other things on my list. This would be an awesome idea for a plugin I think: one that automatically sweeps the WMC recordings folder (or database) and updates the MP tvserver database to include those recordings.
The channel numbers (and names) have nothing to do with the XMLTV plugin (which is just a guide data source).Another thing I'm having a hard time with is channel numbering. Once I finally got the xmltv plugin configured properly all programs are downloaded properly but the MP interface doesn't display the channel numbers. How can I change this so they keep they original tuner channel number instead of just the network name?

- Open MediaPortal configuration.
- Expand the TV/Radio section.
- Select the TV subsection.
- On the general settings tab tick "show channel numbers".
- Click OK to close MP configuration and save.

No problem.Thank you for all your help, you have all been lifesavers with these posts and your lightning fast follow-ups!
Correct. One for each recording.Nevermind.... Found the file, so there's one for each recording?
No and maybe. Now I notice another issue... WMC records .wtv file whereas I know tvserver records in .ts format. Is that an issue for the playback of these recordings in MediaPortal?
