Surprise to me (probably I don't know how it works). When I go to TVserver Configuration > Channels, select a channel, and click preview -- it works.
But trying to view a channel from within MP2 gets the same error - 'no player registered to play media item 'liveX-Y.ts.tsbuffer.'

Here are new logs (with no misleading info, I hope)
Thanks and sorry for misreading. I was on cell phone and out of time.
Have you seen this thread with same problem and followed the steps?

If I remember correctly there is a TV Server process for MP1 and if it Auto Starts, it will conflict with the MP2 service...
My MP1 and MP2 installs are on separate boot disks. NO CONNECTION.

On a reboot, does the TV Server process Auto Start?
Bit of guessing on my part. There is no TVservice shown under task manager>processes, as was the case with MP1.
But 'MP2 Server' is shown under task manager>services.
And W7>Computer>manage>services shows 'MP2 server service' is auto started at boot time.
And the log files > MP2 Server > SetupTV seems to be satisfied that tvserver is running.

So I think that 'TV server' is auto-started, but it's called MP2 server service instead.

    I just took a look.
I have W7 SP1, but not IE 11 (and I refuse to use it)
Attached is a list of everything installed. Is it complete?
And ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?! (not you personally) I have to have IE 11 to make MP2 work? How is that possible, and consistent with the observed problem?

I checked further, if this doesn't help:
    1. Turn off IPV6 on the client machine.
    2. Go into the TV Server Configuration and change the streaming server IP address from Auto to an actual IP address.

You will need Microsoft Redist C++ 2015 (x86) too.

    Download: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=48145

Maybe also the 2012 one. But you should first check if it works if you install the 2015 package.

Tried that -- same error message, and same log indications.
Also need 2012 even though I have 2013 and now 2015 too?

Do you mean set a static IP for the computer, or just pick any non-conflicting address? Do I also need to set the equivalent in MP configuration > tv > host name to the same IP?
(I have MP1 set that way for a reason I don't remember -- and defined the IP address as a local loopback address)

Does MP use IE as it's foundation display mechanism -- like many other applications do?
I guess I'll try the IE 11 kludge - but I really don't like that.

Yes, set a static IP for your PC and disable IPV6 in the media portial settings.
I had an issue with playback once and disabling IPV6 helped.

I don't think, that there is any dependency on IE11.

Tried that -- same error message in MP and in ServerError log.
