Hi...When I put the value #writers on a label, it doesn't pick the "writers" value from the movie database, as it does with #director or #tagline.

Is this a bug or just a "feature"?

    Regards, Mikkel

In this attachment, there is a list (roughly cut from PropertyManager.cs) of the available properties that can be used. It's from svn 20372. Writer doesn't seem to be one of them.

    Thank you very much.

It's kind of weird that "writers" is not here, since "writers" is part of the movie database. I think it would be plausible to have all fields of the database available for usage in the skins. I don't see a reason why not to :)

    I don't see a reason why not to :)

It's very simple: The architecture of MP is not designed to make all db fields automatically public for using them in skins by property tags.

That was done by the devs itself. And those who worked on the movies plugin and it's db forgot to add the writers property.

    regards

Ok..if someone "unforgot" to do this and put the writers field back in, it would really be appreciated ;) If it's just a minor change in the sourcecode I would be happy to do it myself, but would like som pointers in wich files to look.

I only wan't to do it if it gets in SVN, since the need is really not mine, but for a skin I'm doing.

The more I think about it, the more I think that with the neccesary labels available, there would never have been a need for the "Moving Pictures" plugin, and it would give MP a more flexible way to skin it...

MPs inbuilt has many more limits and disadvantages.

MovingPictures is a great plugin, especially the code it is based on, which is so flexible, that it can and should be used by much more community based plugins.

Well, I got so hungry on the MediaStream skin that is available for the XBMC that I decided to recreate it myself.

Besides the fanart (whick you can do manually in myMovies) I don't see the big advantage in Moving Pictures, compared to what you can do with the standard elements. I don't see a reason to make a plugin that does pretty much the same as the built-in plugin...but perhaps that's just me ;)

See what's the only thing missing in these screenshot? Yep, thats right, good old "#writers" ;)

So...I guess I'll just hide that label for the time being...

Moving Pictures does so much more then the build in plugin (My Videos). The scanning is done way better then the built in one.

But hey, I like your progress on MediaStream! Planning on sharing it?

Sure enough...but quite a way to go until it's worth using ;)

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...
