Got a bit of an issue here. Not sure if this is able to be supported but hey.
Running the TV Server on a PC that is also using the "TV Server MCE Replacement Plugin" to send IR BLASTS to my STB. Now i am also running Mediaportal on this ssytem with the TV Server plugin and I am wanting to use the MCe Replacement plugin so i can use the MCE remote to navigate on the same PC. I found that MEdia portal will work with the remote until the TV server requires to change the channel (send an IR Blast) then it stops working. I think it may be both plugins are trying to use the same file.
I've been using your plug-in for almost a year now and now I want to try something different and I cant figure out how to do it. What I cant figure out is how to add the IR-Codes to the "Different Remote" screen. (see attached image). Please give me a few pointers....
With an "MCE Button" selected in the list (in your screenshot it's "NumPad0") you press a button on a remote other than the MCE remote and if it is recognised it will put a number in the "IR Code" column. Then whenever that button on the other remote is pressed the plugin will treat it like NumPad0 was pressed on the MCE Remote.
Does that make sense?
There are some limitations though. If the other remote doesn't use an IR protocol that is recognised then this feature wont work.
The next release of the plugin will support more protocols for this feature, so if it doesn't work now it might soon.
Thought I would let you know that I got sorted out, thanks for the help. I have an "one4all" universal remote, so I had it scan through all the available configurations until I found one that your plug-in recognised. Unfortunately I could only find a configuration that worked with 90% of the buttons, so I used the remotes learning-functionality to make up the 10% by pointing my MCE-Remote at it.
Does anyone know why sometimes when the blaster sends, for example, channel 30 to the STB, the STB misses the first digit and goes to channel 0? Another example send 110 and the STB registers 10. I tried with a leading zero in the channel number like 030 and 0110 which works sometimes and not others.
Is there a setting in MCE Replacement configuration to fix this?
I want to use the MCE Replacement driver and/or IR server suite with my Streamzap remote/receiver.
Is this achievable? MP works fine with the supplied streamzap driver, but I want to be able to send remote button presses to MP when it is not in focus and displayed full screen on my LCD TV.
I almost achieved this with EventGhost (thanks Patricon), but the "Special" keys on the remote wouldn't work properly e.g. EventGhost sent {p} from the play button, instead of just p, and now amount of key mapping would resolve the problem.
I know both this driver, and IR server suite can send commands to MP when out of focus, but will they work with my Streamzap? Any help in setting it up appreciated.
Are you using IR commands you taught the plugin yourself, or are you using one of the quick-setup options?
Sometimes when you teach commands with the replacement plugin they are not 100% accurate, so maybe try teaching them again ... Or try to get some pronto ir commands for your stb. What model is your stb?
