LCD Display Issue

I have a minor problem where the song and artist are not displayed correctly on my LCD display.
I use the MiniDisplay plugin (Soundgraph iMon USB VFD/LCD) for my Antec Fusion and it works well in normal use. MediaPortal 1.0, no SVN's on a clean install.

On the home page the correct cover art and song are shown, and the song duration and progress of the song being played work fine on the LCD, however after the first song has finished the artist and song do not get updated on the LCD. At seemingly random times the song and artist will change but not to the correct details of the current track but one of the songs that have been played earlier.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Should I attach logs?

Thanks for this plugin. Absolutely great! A real addition to MP.

It seems to have a minor issue with MP 1.0.1.0. When configured to go to "Now Playing" it sometimes freezes MP. Music plays fine, but the screen seems stuck at the Homescreen.

Have you any Viz enabled, need to confirm as I have the same issue using milkdrop 2.1, if so will let hwarrman know

Hi just wondering if you (thesystemera) resolved your issue with Mediaportal crashing ?.

I am getting a similar problem. When I use the P button on my keyboard it works well but when using the Play button on my Hauppauge remote I get the Microsoft Windows Error box saying:

"MediaPortal has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

The weird thing is that even with the above message everything is working fine, I guess I could just minimize and ignore the message but I would like to work out why this is happening. Obviously something to do with the Hauppauge remote.

If I press the P button on the keyboard I can then use the other remote buttons fine without any error messages.

Anyway any clues to solving this issue would be appreciated.

Not working for me. Log attached

I'm running a fresh install of MP 1.0.2 No SVN
No PureAudio Plugin
No Visualizations enabled.
MCE Remote - It might be worth mentioning that my remote came with my Hauppauge TV card as an MCE remote/TV Tuner package. MP recognizes it as an MCE remote.

I can get the plugin to work with the P keypress but can't for the life of me to get it to work with the play button on the remote. I can see in the log that the play command is getting returned and the plugin plays and loads the playlist...in that order. But nothing else happens and all my remote buttons except the arrow buttons stop working as other people have reported.

I attached a log showing results from pressing the play button on the remote first and then the P key for comparison. I hope it's just something simple I'm missing.

Help Please. I'd really like to use this plugin for my radio web streams.

First of all you have a lot of exceptions in the log, because your XFactor screen has missing files.
Please try with the default skin.

And then i see another execption in the log:
OnMessage exceptionystem.ArgumentException: URI formats are not supported.

this is why no playback starts.

please upload also your radio.pls. i need to try it myself

I have the same issue using the default skin.
I can play the playlist using the keyboard so the playlist seems to be functioning correctly.
-Other programs such as MusicMatch and MediaMonkey play the playlist fine.
I can play random 5 songs using the remote so the remote seems to be functioning correctly.


The Onexception errors you mentioned appear to be occuring because the Now Playing screen doesn't support the playlist entry. I'm assuming this is because it's an IP. When I set the Jump on play to None the errors were no longer logged.

Log and playlist attached in zip.

This log contains failed remote attempts and successful keyboard attempts.
Log entry 2009-05-10 21:15:04.640625 is my unsuccessful remote attempt.
Log entry 2009-05-10 21:15:16.000000 is my successful keyboard attempt.

If it helps my MCE remote is RC6
