You can update your current install and revert back after by starting %temp%\mediaportal\deploy folder (i don't have exact folder name in mind)

i can update the build i have without deinstall/install and loose my settings/plugins.. ? when its easy plz explain a little bit more. otherwise i do a fresh mp installation with your build and the core.dll tomorrow..

## i will do fresh installation tomorrow and try again. will be too late today because i want my setup 100% working and that needs time

Yeah sorry, i didn't explain a lot :

#1 start full installer for ex : MediaPortalSetup_1.3.0_xxxxxx.exe
#2 close installer
#3 go to : start -> run -> %temp%\MediaPortal Installation\deploy
#4 here you can find 'package-mediaportal.exe' and 'package-tvengine.exe' is you use TV.
#5 install both and it will upgrade your current installation

To revert to another installation, repeat all the above step by using the full installer you want to install

Well done! Thumbs will create and all working well at the moment. i will attach logs, maybe you want to have a look if all ok. there are some error messages, but i dont know if they relevant.

ah one thing i notice. for the last folder with pictures from me there will be no thumb (the 4picture-thumb) generated.

edit: i mean there will be no folder.jpg generated, the thumb for every picture is ok.

edit2: i think this line has to do with this

 Utils: Your skin does not supply previewbackground.png to create folder preview thumbs!

Can you try with default skin (wide or no wide) ?

with default wide no change. doesnt create folder.jpg on the fly while browsing, nore through update database in config.

You mean you browse your folder in MyMusic and folder.jpg is not created ?

no, it was not working even like the music thumbs not working.
now the music thumbs are ok, only the picture thumbs left.
i thought maybe it is the same procedure, isn't it?

i will clear logs and cache and existing thumbs, make a step by step story and post the logs

i delete all picture thumb from config / klick button
i delete all thumbs in "\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Cache"
i delete all thumbs in "\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Thumbs\pictures"
i delete all files in "\User\Mike\AppData\Local\Temp
i delete all logs
restart with autostart mp
go to pictures -> browse the new album -> no folder thumb created -> exit mp
open config -> update database with klick button -> thumbnails will created
open mp -> go to pictures -> no folder.jpg created in the new album
