For me no. I am on a 3g connection in a hotel. Having a 20mb sample on our server means I can (a) try some stuff without downloading anything and (b) have a small sample I can try and download which we know is problematic.

I have been looking at this and the file behaves as you say but I need to find out about the recording.

We are going to need logs from TV server showing the recording in progress. All the tv logs you have provided are only 1 kb and only show what was happening at playback time.

Are any of these channels encrypted?

I most/all channels are encrypted - I never recorded an unencrypted channel, but some may exist on the transponder.
Sorry, it's hard to provide logs for a recording with such outcome (- this a periodic failure)
    - normal logs never showed anything special these few times I checked them out after
    - is it possible to check out what with that file makes MP fail to play it, while VLC and Linux players process it just fine ?
maybe focus on playback due to the fact that the file itself is fully playable in other players ? - (makes me think the problem is not with the recording, even tho something went "differently" - but with the playback part.)

Do you use MDAPI for decoding? One of the other devs pointed out an older thread with similar circumstances

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...496/some-h264-recordings-will-not-play-81381/

This it appears was down to issues with the way MDAPI was decoding and from one of your logs I see
    Code:
    1-03-2011 23:28:01.172 [a9c]Pes header 0-0-1 fail
    01-03-2011 23:28:03.265 [a9c]Pes 0-0-1 fail

    01-03-2011 23:28:08.713 [a9c]Pes header 0-0-1 fail

    01-03-2011 23:28:18.808 [a9c]Pes header 0-0-1 fail

    01-03-2011 23:28:30.054 [a9c]Pes header 0-0-1 fail
    01-03-2011 23:28:30.074 [a9c]DeMultiplexer: 30 video format changed: res=720x576 aspectRatio=16:9 fps=25 isInterlaced=1
    01-03-2011 23:28:30.074 [a9c]DeMultiplexer: triggering OnVideoFormatChanged

which looks similar. The outcome of that was that issue was only there with MDAPI and we do not support it therefore it was not going to be fixed.

Are you using MDAPI? If not what are you using for decoding?

hi, how do I tell, I don't even know what MDAPI is. :)
I recently replaced the motherboard, and installed a new XP , the problem remains. - I do use ffdshow , but mostly it's a XP SP3, with MP on top, nothing more.
Please tell me how I can verify that MDAPI thing.

in case you are asking for codec:
(Video codecs, also tried to play these ts files as a "video" )
    video codec: MPEG2,H264,AAC = ffdshow
    MPEG/AC3 audio MPEG3 MPC-MPA Decoder filter
    Audio renderer default directsound dev.

    TV Codecs:
    video codec: MPEG2,H264, = ffdshow
    MPEG/AC3 audio MPEG3 MPC-MPA Decoder filter
LATM AAC = Momgram AAC decoder
    DD+ audio = ffdshow
    Audio renderer default directsound dev.

    Using VMR9

These are two FireDTV-S2 cards, each with it's own certified Conax 4.0 CAM + subscription card. - It just works in MP + the digitaleverywhere software.

BTW: My wife just confirmed it's "a few weeks" since last time she saw this problem (even before new motherboard) - she is the one that almost daily plays back MP recordings, I play mine on a Linux computer at my office (at home) - (so I can't run MP client) , so I cannot tell which of my recordings, if any, would cause a problem.

    Just to add more info:
All my recordings are always from DVB-T (I rarely use DVB-S).
I don't use MDAPI (I had to search what it is).
I don't have logs obtained during recording (but I will try to get any).

If you need an aditional DVB-T recorded file, I can upload you a fragment. Just ask.

I *did* upload a sample almost a month ago. (see post link below)
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...ly-sound-no-video-displayed-86619/#post722746

Missed that. Can you upload a 20mb sample using the details in this page
    wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/18_Contribute/4_Development/Debugging/TS_Dumps

(Just cut off upload after 20mb has gone through)

I've uploaded a 20MB-ish file to the server you can examine as well...

    The filename is: The Price Is Right _ - 7.1 WHIO-HD - 2011-04-05.ts

If that gets deleted, I've also uploaded a copy to my personal web server The Price Is Right _ - 7.1 WHIO-HD - 2011-04-05.ts

My recordings are all recorded ATSC OTA. No scramble, no mdapi (whatever that is), etc.
