    PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.11 (RC2) Mute problem

    Michael,

    Last night MP was still recording when I went to bed. So I pushed the standby button and it went to Away mode.
    This morning I turned it back on and saw that it was frozen on a TV frame. I killed MP with taskmanager and saw that the pc also was muted. I use S/PDIF by the way.

    I hope that you can find anything in my logs.

    Thanks.

    AW: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.11 (RC2) Mute problem

    Well, I found a serious bug in PS++ client that led me to publish a new version (1.2.0.12), but unfortunately not the cause for your problems.
    From your logs it seems that TV was switched off properly when you entered away mode (at least I cannot detect any error indications - but I am no expert for graphs). But there must have been an error:confused:
    To reproduce the error you should watch tv while a recording is active, go to away mode and then check if tv is off and your volume setting is still ok or not. If the error actually results from switching off tv, there is no need to wait for the end of the recording and the system going to suspend. But your error (frozen tv) could also be a consequence of the bug I corrected today, so you should try the updated version.

    The problem with frozen image hapend for the first time yesterday, I did not see that before. The mute problem I see more often, but I am not able to reproduce. I always stop live TV before selecting standby. (Harmony remote--> stop all program):cool: It seems to be on a monday, because sunday evening a weekly tvshow is recording when I go to sleep.
    I just update to the new version 1.2.0.12 (RC2).
    I will report with logs again if I see the problem.

    Thanks and good night for now.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    Michael,

    I was lucky and reproduced the problem.
    • Yesterday evening I started a recording manually.
    • I switched on live tv and watched for a few minutes.
    • Then I use my "go to sleep" command from the remote. This triggers the following commands for MP:
      • stop
      • stop
      • toggle standby
    • I saw life tv stopping
    • The screen went off and away mode was entered.
    • At the end of the program MP stoped the recording.
    • After the set idle time MP went into standby mode.
    • This morning I started MP from standby and started a music file....no sound!
    • I closed MP and saw at the audio icon in the taskbar that the sound was muted.
    It crossed my mind that if the problem occurs, it alway is over night.
    So it went to away mode on one day,... and switched to standby on the next day past 0.00hr.:mad:

    I attatched my logs again and hope you can find something.

    Thanks for your effort sofar.

    Frank

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    I recently installed Powerscheduler++ and am having a
    few problems getting it to do what I want. I'm using MP 1.1.2
    with the Sky EPG enhancement under Windows 7.

    Typically I schedule an advance TV recording and then put the
    computer into sleep mode. The problem is that it wakes up OK at
    the start time and begins recording but does not go back to
    sleep as expected when the recording ends.

    I have configured Powerscheduler++ as follows using the
    TV-Server:

    Under setting: Ticked Desktop

    Under General:

    Ticked: Powerscheduler++ forces sys to go to standby after 5
    mins, Standby mode Hybrid sleep S3

    Ticked: Wakeup sys for various events

    Stand-by hours 0 to 24.

    Under processes:

    Ticked: No standby while MP client is not running.

    EPG grabber unticked

    Windows power settings have been set as recommended.

    Have I missed setting some important parameter?

    Many thanks.

    To install do I have to update the extension installer provided as standard in 1.2Alpha. If not which file do I need to browse to in the installer?

    Hej,
    I have exactly the same problem with mute after resuming.
    There's one 'but': I don't have PS++ installed :)
    I'm digging to find where's the problem.
