    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    Hi there,

    I have read (on the web) of other people having issues with mute and away mode (they dont run Mediaportal).

    Its when the device goes into awaymode (mute and video turned off), and then standby occurs. When the device wakes, the volume is still muted.

    One very dirty workaround is to unmute the volume on resume (doesnt fix the unlying problem, but at least sound works)

    Hi,

    sadly I have an really important issue with MP and PS++.
    When sheduling a record the single seat system will not wake up! It worked fine a few versions of SP++ before.
    What I tried several times is to shedule a record, set system to sleep via remote, wait for wake up (without success) wakeup via remote.
    The logs of this test are attached.

    This is my config in PS++:
    Profile: HTPC
    Processes that can prevent Standby: SetupTv, Configuration, comskip, chrome, powerdvd8, Audiosurf, iexplore, ultrastardx,Project64, Dolphin, Game, snes9x, JadeEmpire, lf2, wwtbamF, ultrastardx, pcsx2-r3878
    Details are attached.

    Please help, this is an important future I don't want to miss. :(
    Let me know if you need more info.

    regards

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    Hi and great work with this plugin, I'm setting up mediaportal for my oldies and this plugin makes the htpc feel more appliance like.

    I have pretty much setup the plugin how I want but I have one question: I have set the htpc to reboot every Thursday at 4am and was wondering if there is a recording taking place will the reboot happen after the recording has finished or will it reboot during the recording? Also what if the htpc is suspended at this time? I have not toggled the 'wake to reboot' option so will the reboot occour when the PC is next awoken? Or will it wait until it is on around that time?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    What I tried several times is to shedule a record, set system to sleep via remote, wait for wake up (without success) wakeup via remote.
    You suspended your system too fast after scheduling the recording. Thus the wakeup time could not be calculated and the system did not wakeup as expected. If you wait some seconds (depends on your check interval settings) before you suspend, everything should work...

    I will try to fix this issue in the next release.

    The reboot will take place only when the system is idle, i.e. after the recording or any other activity preventing standby has finished. If your system is in sleep mode at the scheduled reboot time and will not wakeup because you did not check the 'wake to reboot' option, it will reboot later on the same day (Thursday) whenever it is up again and idle. If it is not running at all on that day there will be no reboot until the next Thursday.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    Hello, first of all, congratulations for your work.

    I have been testing this plugin all the morning but i haven't been able to make it wake up for EPG grabbing or for system reboot. I used the documentation pdf to configure it. I have make a lot of tests. Always the systems goes to sleep as configured, but it never wakes up. In the config i have checked the line that says "Wakeup system for various events (Recording, EPG Grabbing...)" and in EPG tab i have set the time, checked the day of the week and also checked "Wakeup system for EPG Grabbing". I have included a command tu run a batch file that writes a log with the actual time, just to see if it was doing something i haven't seen, but never writes the log. I also tried this same settings in reboot tab with same results. The systems goes to sleep well, but never wakes up.

    However, i have tried a scheduled record, and it have made it (i think in away mode because the screen was powered off and the minidisplay too). I have been watching at task scheduller in windows to see if there are the powerscheduler tasks but i haven't see them. I'm windows 7 x64 user if it helps something.

    The idea i want to do is to wake up the pc twice a week to grab EPG with an external program (launching it from powerscheduler++ run command option).

    I attach an example log. The description is that i opened MePo at 14:59 (i have configured 3 minutes for going sleep and i have a set it to wakeup al 17:09) but it doesn't wake up until i press on button at 17:15 and it wakes up.

    Thanks for your help!!

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    Michael,

    In the upcoming 1.2 there are some changes to ps, do you keep track of these or have ps++ diverged so far off that code that they no longer apply?

    Here are some links from just a quick look at the changelog:

    0003439: Powerscheduler does not always wake up PC - MediaPortal Bugtracker
    0003454: suspend grace period - MediaPortal Bugtracker
    0003448: WaitableTimer in PowerScheduler leaks handles on each suspend - MediaPortal Bugtracker
    0003083: MP goes into stanby while watching a slideshow on a multiseat client - MediaPortal Bugtracker

    0003202: add network share monitoring support to PowerScheduler - MediaPortal Bugtracker
    0003153: networkmonitor-handler never gets started - MediaPortal Bugtracker
    0003277: Activation of network monitor causes long start of network at boot - MediaPortal Bugtracker

    Btw, you don't happen to have a build for 1.2 svn in the works? Everything is working so fine here that I feel an urge to update... ;)

    EDITED: I continued with the test and it was my fault. The log generated by the batch file was generating at same dir as Mediaportal TV Server was installed. I have made tests with epg and reboot and they work fine. Sorry for the inconveniences, i will keep doing tests and getting feedback. Thanks again!!

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    I continued with my tests and found an extrange behaviour. For example, the system today had been launched today for EPG grabbing automatically i.e. at 14:10. I'm trying to test it today too but later, i.e at 20:05. When i set the config in the plugin, and wait to the result, it does not awake to do the job. When i come tothe log to see what happened this is what i found really extrange:

    The question is: ¿if i configured it for today it has to launch EPG grabbing wake up today or do i have to wait a week for next monday?

    Thanks again and again!!:D

    EDIT: I have tried again with same results. The HTPC waked up for grabbing EPG at 14:20, later i configured it to do a reboot (in the same day but later time) and in the logs it prepares the reboot for next week's same day, but not for today. ¿Is this normal?

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.12 (RC2)

    Hello folks,

    I have been using MediaPortal for a couple of weeks now, and am having real trouble sorting out a reliable method for standy and wakeup.
    I initially tried MCE Standby Tool, but that keep sending my PC into sleep mode whilst it was recording and ending the recording.

    After looking in the MP wiki, I came across PowerScheduler++.
    It seems to handle the wake up part of my setup correctly, but never seems to send it back into standby when nothing is supposed to be happening - I have to do this via the power buton or the start menu.
    However, it has now failed to wake up for any recordings today, as far as I can tell - this is the 2nd time that this has happened.

    So I am hoping somebody might be able to look at my attached log files and identify the problem - it is probably the way I have something configured, as I am still getying to grips with the whole Media PC thing.

    I put it into sleep mode at 11:12, so I hve also attached the relevant part of tv.bak, and it was supposed to start recording at 17:10 from BBC HD

    I am running W7 32bit with a BGT3620 DVB-T2 card - let me know if you need any more info.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Philip
