i have an Hauppauge HVR-4000 (CX88x), which is also not listed. But it works with Mediaportal (i just had to install WinDVR and Hauppauge software encoder)
I tried both with no success.
WinDVR and WinTVCD 4 can use my card. But when I go into the Media Portal configuration and press the add button in the cepture card menu, it says that there were no capture card found. =(
TV Engine 3 even doesn't find my card anymore after I installed Win TVCD 4.
Hi Chemelli, the steps you are referring to, does that relate to getting the Hauppauge working with TVE3 or TVE2?
I have the HVR4000 also and whilst I can get the DVB-S part working just fine, the Analogue fails due to the lack of a hardware Mpeg encoder. If you have the Analogue in that card working with TVE3 I am very interested in following your example.
I'm on TV3 with HVR-4000. You need at least SVN 16379 to have analog card working. Take care that you need to put it in a hybrid card with DVB-T. Leave instead alone the DVB-S.
If you get no audio/video signal during preview, assure to have both WINTV CD 4.0 installed ( in particular MPEG SW decoders ) and the new SVN.
Ok to summarise then, I should create a "Hybrid" card in TVE3 and place both the DVB-T and Analogue tuners into the "Hybrid" entry but leave the DVB-S tuner out of that entry. Then ensure that SVN 16379 is installed and finally get the WINTV CD4.0 drivers and applications installed (following the instructions in the link above).
I will report how I get on - but this will solve a lot of issues for me if I have the results you have.
Well I am not sure what you are doing, but in my case, all I get when I select a channel that has been detected on the Analogue tuner in the HVR4000 is Audio/Video Not Found.
I uninstalled all of the Hauppauge drivers and rebooted. Then I installed v4.0 of the drivers and installed all of the Hauppauge software. I can receive analogue TV from the analogue card using WinTV. Then I installed SVN Build 16369 of TVE3 (because 16379 is not out yet - I presumed you made a mistake in the reference) and I was able to tune the analogue channels that I expected to see, but TVE3 simply cannot display channels from this tuner. I also created a Hybrid group and assigned just the DVB-T and the Analogue tuner to that hybrid group.
So can you confirm that you are getting the analogue channels of the HVR4000 Analogue tuner in TVE3? If so, I am puzzled at how you managed that. Do you have any other software installed that could change the way in which TVE3 engages with the analogue tuner in the HVR4000?
I currently have two Quatros running, one connect, one duo using OTA antennae, mostly UHF fringe area, mostly cat5 local network.
Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units.
Go to SD's support website and download and install the windows...

Brief update... Hauppauge support responded quickly, stating that the "driver for all of our product confirm to the BDA format". Not sure what that means, but to test that, I downloaded a copy of Capture4Me, and indeed, it switches LNBs without any issues with minimal configuration (just set DiSEqC to 1.x A/B/C/D and select the...

Well, the log doesn't show any problems. I can see correctly tuned channels in the log. It seems to me that the tuner works fine.
Can you copy the created ts file(located in your timeshift folder) somewhere else while in channel preview and try to play it in VLC or MPC-HC?
PS: You can also try to make short record
