Very nice.

This debug app actually responded. For the record, I have the RC107 remote with the 507 IR dongle.

    ahh, most excellent!

I'll use that info to make the Input Service plugin work now :)

Keep an eye out for the next test version of IR Server Suite, it will have this in and (hopefully) working.

    Thanks,

PS. Just for the hell of it, can you test the older test programs from this thread and see if they do anything?

    Thanks again,

    ok, next attempt...

Try this on and let me know how it goes ...

Also, what is the "Present" button? And are there any arrow buttons? If so, what codes do they generate?

If this one works it will be in the next version of the ir server suite for sure.

I just want to make 100% sure before I release the next version.

    Thanks,

    Hello again Aaron,

Back after trying to learn Python programming...

I can only confirm Atrustaijitu's result, I received the same codes !
    It works perfect now!

The "Present" button is meant to start a presentation program, like Powerpoint.

The only thing that your code doesn't react on is the mouse function, they are picked up by windows,
So the mouse functions are working already, both left and right mouse buttons and mouse movements.

Are there anymore things you would like to have tested?

I noticed that the software only reacted to signals from the RC107 remote, not the MCE remote, is this only in the debug application, ie will other remotes (MCE...) work in the IR Server Suite using the IR507 receiver?

    Thanks for excellent support!

    /Mikael

Does the IR507 usually let you use other remotes?

Also, are there arrow buttons on the remote? If so, can you give me the codes for them too...

I'll have the plugin working in the next test release ... which should be out by the end of the weekend.

    Cheers,

The IR receiver is a weird generic receiver that can work with different remotes. One type of remote (the one I have) has a mouse control. Others have arrows instead of the 'mouse'.

    ok, cool.

Does it work with other remotes that you have laying around the house?

    Cheers,

    Cheers,

    :D Hi and-81,

I've just joined up on this site after trying to download the driver for the RC103 which is no longer hosted.
    I have the IR102/IR507 which I bought ridiculously cheap (Aldi/Tevion <£4).

A search for IR507 found this thread.

I was after trying to control more of the PC - the RC102 has only 14 buttons and the RC103 has the most from the range - more than 30.

The RC102 clashes with that for my Roadstar DVD/Karaoke.

I figured that with the driver for the RC103 I could map the DVD buttons to the RC103 functions.
What I really want to do is map buttons from an unused remote to PC keyboard functions.

Anyway with your debugger I have found that the DVD buttons (well I've packed away the original handet, but using the universal) all buttons generate a code. Using the other devices on the universal RC no codes are generated - the IR507 doesn't seem to recognise other devices.

That disappoints me - I was also hoping to identify the protocols used on different handsets, something I had originally tried in the early 1990s using a Sinclair Spectrum with it's network interface connected to the coax remote output from a Philips TV/AV system (that lets devices without a remote eye eg. cassette deck, work from commands sent via the TV eye). That only worked for Philips RC5 system commands as the TV filtered out others, but there's 32 device categories in that so plenty of codes to play with - and I had at the time a Matchline system handset and a Philips RC5/learning handset that could transmit any RC5 code.
I also have a Pinnacle RS232 remote eye with a capture card, but the current PC doesn't support RS232 connection natively so the USB eye it is.

Thanks for your effort on this issue and please keep up the good work. I would be most interested in a Windows driver that replaces/supercedes the unobtainable RC103 one !:D

Also, are there arrow buttons on the remote? If so, can you give me the codes for them too...
    ......
    Cheers,

The codes for the RC102 14-button handset, from the most recently posted IR507 debugger are:

    00-00-F7-00-FF = "POWER"
    00-00-F7-01-FE = UP ARROW / "LANGUAGE"
    00-00-F7-02-FD = "BACK"
    00-00-F7-03-FC = LEFT ARROW
    00-00-F7-04-FB = "OK"
    00-00-F7-05-FA = RIGHT ARROW
    00-00-F7-06-F9 = "PREV/CH-"
    00-00-F7-07-F8 = DOWN ARROW / "SUBTITLE"
    00-00-F7-08-F7 = "NEXT/CH+"
    00-00-F7-09-F6 = "STOP"
    00-00-F7-0A-F5 = "PLAY/PAUSE"
    00-00-F7-0B-F4 = "VOL +"
    00-00-F7-0C-F3 = "DVD MENU"
    00-00-F7-0D-F2 = "VOL -"

That is "reading" the buttons from left to right, top to bottom, no button in the fifth row second column.
    00 01 02
    03 04 05
    06 07 08
    09 0A 0B
    0C __ 0D

There is an unsurprising pattern with regard to the last sixteen bits of each code!
The other handsets in the range have different functions assigned to each code, that is my deduction after trying the RC102 with the drivers for at least one other model, the onscreen representation flashes a different button than that pressed on the RC102.

In case it's any use, here is the list for my Roadstar DVD/karaoke player (50 buttons).

    row 1
    00-00-F7-0C-F3 = "POWER"
    00-00-F7-08-F7 = "SYSTEM"
    00-00-F7-04-FB = "OSD"
    00-00-F7-00-FF = "OPEN/CLOSE"
    row2
    00-00-F7-0D-F2 = "TITLE"
    00-00-F7-09-F6 = "1"
    00-00-F7-05-FA = "2"
    00-00-F7-01-FE = "3"

    00-00-F7-47-B8 = "5"
    00-00-F7-43-BC = "6"
    row4
    00-00-F7-4E-B1 = "PBC"
    00-00-F7-4A-B5 = "7"
    00-00-F7-46-B9 = "8"
    00-00-F7-42-BD = "9"
    row5
    00-00-F7-4D-B2 = "SETUP"
    00-00-F7-49-B6 = "0"
    00-00-F7-45-BA = "+10"
    00-00-F7-41-BE = "CLEAR"
    row6
    00-00-F7-0F-F0 = "ZOOM"
    00-00-F7-44-BB = UP ARROW
    00-00-F7-03-FC = "STEP"
    row7
    00-00-F7-4C-B3 = LEFT ARROW
    00-00-F7-06-F9 = "ENTER"
    00-00-F7-40-BF = RIGHT ARROW
    row8
    00-00-F7-0B-F4 = "SLOW"
    00-00-F7-48-B7 = DOWN ARROW
    00-00-F7-07-F8 = "RETURN"
    row9
    00-00-F7-0E-F1 = "PAUSE"
    00-00-F7-0A-F5 = "PLAY"
    00-00-F7-02-FD = "STOP"
    row10
    00-00-F7-5C-A3 = "FR" fast reverse
    00-00-F7-58-A7 = "FF" fast forward
    00-00-F7-54-AB = "PREV"
    00-00-F7-50-AF = "NEXT"
    row11
    00-00-F7-5D-A2 = "REPEAT"
    00-00-F7-59-A6 = "REP A-B"
    00-00-F7-55-AA = "PROGRAM"
    00-00-F7-51-AE = "RANDOM"
    row12
    00-00-F7-5E-A1 = "AUDIO"
    00-00-F7-5A-A5 = "SUBTITLE"
    00-00-F7-56-A9 = "ANGLE"
    00-00-F7-52-AD = "RESUME"
    row13
    00-00-F7-5F-A0 = "-" volume down
    00-00-F7-5B-A4 = "+" volume up
    00-00-F7-57-A8 = "FUNCTION"
    00-00-F7-1C-E3 = "MUTE"
    00-00-F7-18-E7 = "GOTO"
    00-00-F7-14-EB = "L/R"
Strangely there seems no pattern here regarding position or function:confused: , only that the last 16 bits are again 8, inverse 8 bits.

That DVD/karaoke player (well all my equipment!) is natively supported by my Philips Prestigo SRU8015 (latest toy :D), but was never supported by any of my previous "cheapo" handsets - only through learn mode which always prematurely filled those handsets' memory.
I think as it's a karaoke/CD+G player that it uses a different code category to "normal" DVD players.

I've tried IR Server Suite 1.0.4.2 (preview 6 and preview 5).
There's no response to the handset in Translator/Programs(system wide)/New, it just times out the "press remote button" dialogue.
IR Service Config does not detect a receiver, (if I check IR507, detect unchecks it), I've tried checking HID, and verified that the USB HID entry for the receiver is listed when it is enabled in Device Manager.
I've tried disabling the HID entry in device manager (the only condition that stopped the IR507Receiver debug from displaying codes), and of course disabling the supplied software.
Also Translator receives from the Keyboard Input Relay.

Am I missing an obvious step or is there a problem with this setup ?
    Windows XP/SP2,

    Further to post #29,
I've now tried 1.0.4.2 (preview 3) and the only significant difference is that IR Service Config does detect the (RC102) receiver, Translator still sees nothing from the handset, IR507 debug still shows the hex for pressed keys.

More on the mystery - I copied the RC102 files from the preview 3 to the preview 6 installation and IR Service Config now detects the receiver as RC102.
    Translator still sees nothing.
I know the HID concept works, as I've installed EventGhost (suggested in these forums by Aaron) and that happily receives the same codes via HID as the IR507 debug utility.
I still don't like being beaten by software configuration though, and hope a future release of IR Server Suite is compatible with the IR507.

I've searched the library on the Prestigo SRU8015 handset for codes that the IR507 picks up and found three variations on the second byte (00 00 F7 xx xx, 00 08 F7 xx xx and 00 0A F7 xx xx) and with several button maps, all generally DVD (DVD, DVDR, DVDR+HDD and PVR/DTR) type devices, apart from one under another category (satellite).
So I hope to be able to set up three devices to triple the number of codes that handset can individually send to the PC via the IR507.

Ok, thanks much. I will look into the instructions above. For the moment, I turned off the "Automatic channel logo update" in Settings (which somehow I had missed, I think because it wasn't an option previously), and the deleted everything in the Flat-default folder and populated it with my own logos. Works, so far.
