Keep in mind that the remote control, althought very important, is only part of the equation....

You still need an IR Receiver for the computer to be able to respond to the remote control, and an IR Transmitter to be able to control any set-top boxes you may have.

If you got the Antec Fusion 430 case that you were contenplating in the "HTPC Holy Grail" thread, you will need to configure your harmony 1000 as an Microsoft MCE remote.... Unfortunately, the IR Receiver is the antec case is (to put it politely) problematic.... It is a pain to configure and use, and the software that it comes with is horrible. But we are working to remedy that problem... (Check the CybrDisplay and IR Server Suite threads)

Good luck 8-}

Yes I've ordered the antec case. I bought one before and managed to make it work. I created the shortcuts by hand. (bind button to keyboard shortcut). Probably not the best way but it works perfectly :). ((in vista)).

If the reception of the case isn't sufficient what would be the best way to increase it?

I did the following with my last HTPC. hxxp://waalre.pwnz.it/IMG_0623b.jpg . Look at the small device bottom corner of the TV. That's what I used to extent reception. The ANTEC is hiding in the closet below it together with an onkyo 605 which works fine. I needed something to extend it anyway.

What other options do I have and not loose the ability to power up the pc with the remote?
Can I do something inside the case to increase reception?

I'll be controlling some denon devices and probably need to do something with the beamer. I believe both have remote controls. So at the moment I'm not worried.

edit:: I never bothered with the display. But I think I will now.

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

After many hours of troubleshooting I've given up and accepted that it's just "one of these things" when using madVR for watching live TV. I've now ticked the box to "Use EVR for LiveTV", with a default display refresh rate of 50Hz. In combination with tweaking some of the Nvidia 3D settings for the MP executable only, I now have a...
