What would be great is if Arcsoft could release a driver with SIM-HD support. That way we could get simple upscaling done by the GPU. They would offcourse also have to release their AMD version of SIM-HD.

Well, i can see 1080p with no problems, using or not DXVA.
But, recently i have some files with this name: "...720p BluRay DTS x264-CtrlHD.mkv" and with mediaportal or with MPC-HC the sound is always breaking, and if i use VLC it's perfect.

I supouse it's not from my machine, because i can see 1080p with no problems and not using DXVA, the CPU it's amost ins 80% but there is no breaks.
And those files, are 720p and the sound is always breaking.

Any sugestion?

Yes, it have DTS audio track and i'm outputting over SPDIF.
But with movies with DTS the soud is good.
So i only need to install ac3filter? and in the config of MP, do i have to change anything?

install ac3filter, in MP config, go to the video postprocessing and add ac3filter. go into ac3filter config and set it to spdif and check the DTS box (and AC3 and MPEG if you want). Then set the DTS padding to Auto. That should do it for you, that has worked for me and many others.

But i have one question, why is that in movies 1080p with DTS audio, there is no problem?
And this problem will be resolve with new versions of SAF? or have to be allways solve with ac3filter?

mkv file won't play

Hi,

I have two questions:
1. Is it possible to use the Powerdvd codec for decoding x.264 movies or is the mpv better for some reason?

2. I have an mkv file which doesn't play see a part from the mediaportal.log below. Is there anything I can do about it or is it a SAF issue?

PS I have installed SAF 3.48 (no other codecs or what so ever) and other mkv files are playing fine.

1) MPC-HC have better DXVA support.
2) Do not use SAF 3.48, use 3.47 instead - there are software decoding broken in 3.48.

BTW - in our LOG, there are subtitles present - are subtiles inside MKV?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have deinstalled SAF 3.48 and installed 3.47.
Still had the same issue but your note about subtitles triggered me to rename the srt file but the file was locked...so after deleting the file on my server the mkv played just fine. After coping the file back it hung again.

Really strange issue (btw coping the file back and deleting it straight away works. Only after trying to play the mkv in MP it gets locked) The file is included BTW.

Other files (mkv) with subs work just fine, so don't bother spending to much time trying to fix it.

(O yeah in vlc the mkv with subs are working ok)
