Thanks for the new Beta, but i still have an issue with the DVD-Navigator (?)! Timeline is not working, Step fw goes to the end of the movie, step back to the begiining!

SAF didnt do anythink with DVD navigator. There is not any options, settings, etc...
Most of problems come how the DVD is authored. All DVDs i made by TMPGEnc working 100% with MS DVD navigator.

Too bad there is not some open source DVD navigator filter (and i think it wont will be becouse of licences)...

So that is out of SAF possibilities... i have bad experience with PDVD navigator (so no support from SAF), becouse it failed to output audio and some DVD fails to open in MP completly.

Not sure if i asked already - do you are using AnyDVD?

BTW i had issues on Vista last time i tryed them with DVD playback + EVR - playback always freeze, when i tryed to skip to next chapter. Same on XP using EVR. It working fine on Win7 + EVR.
So try (for test) to setup your MP to use VMR9 instead of EVR.
I got best DVD playback experience on XP + VMR9 (and Win7 x64 + EVR seems to be working too).

My advice is to try GB-PVR too (to eliminate possible MP issue).

hoborg: I've just installed Windows 7 64bit. Selected all decoders to Microsoft decoder. And it looks at first sight acceptable. Can you tell more about the pro's and con's of this decoder? B.t.w. EVR seems to compensate on NTSC/PAL stuttering too.

No, i could not, becouse i have no idea

I tryed MS one and it produces garbage on some videos (xvid, h.264) or was not able to decode some audio tracks at all (filter connected, but no sound).

Cyberlink indeed has some issues in it's navigator, but you need to remember that when you are changing DVD navigator you need to use matching MPEG2 decoder! So, if you use MS DVD navigator, you need to use MS MPEG2 codec as navigator and video decoder are both taking part in the DVD menu rendering (broken DVD menus is usually caused by the fact that no matching navigator and codec has been used).

Btw. I have seen one commercial DVD that causes MS DVD navigator to show incorrect movie duration. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to fix those issues.

0002452: Skip steps broken in DVD playback - MediaPortal Bugtracker <-- that will most likely be caused by DVD navigator and is not fixable in MP side.

Yes SSD + Win7 x64 = awesme speed

But Win7 is nearly useless for MP, at last until haali problem will be fixed.

Ok nice to know you're running Win7 x64 on SSD too. maybe a workaround is a script in the scheduler which kills haali leftovers from time to time?

Off topic: Only problem i had with Win7 x64 was with restart.vbs after resume from hibernate (powerscheduler). Kill's MP but after that...no restart. Same with you?

tourettes, i have no problems on my setup with DVDs. AnyDVD + MS navigator + PDVD9 (DXVA on) + MPA audio decoder + XP with VMR9 = working solution

Memu butons work, navigations work, no artifacts in picture (like in gabest decoder), buttons are highlighted, etc.

BTW, try to switch to WMR9 - maybe it wil fix it (0002452: Skip steps broken in DVD playback)

The non-working menus issue us depending on DVDs. So, you should consider yourself lucky one as you haven't got DVDs that trigger the issue

Maybe. I got ~50 DVDs in my colection, most of them are stored in ISO.

I have made some tests and this seems to be not SAF related! After uninstalling SAF, i have the same issue with "MS DVD Navigator", "PDVD 8 & 9"!
