That's HD MPEG-2.

EDIT:
I should mention, when hardware (VA) de-interlacing was not working properly on my system due to bad ATI driver install, and only the MPEG-2 HA was, those figures were roughly reversed. I was surprised how much grunt VA took.

I tried SAF 4.10 SVN. It works OK for h264 and all other types.
Only thing I found is the ffdshow(dxva) is less tolerant for small errors in files compared to Cyberlink Video Decoder (PDVD9) for H.264. I had to switch to pdvd in order to see the last 5 minutes of heroes. Image got distorted/blocky.

it is now working. Even my HD films are running amazingly smooth. Almost perfect.
The only problem left is that my HD films in .mkv format don't have a sound anymore. Everything else, including .avi files are running fine on video and audio.

any idea what the problem could be?

Cyberlink or ArcSoft decoders won't decode interlaced VC-1 unless their own splitter is in the graph.

I attached the screenshot of the working graph with MpegSplitter.ax and PDVD9 decoder.

Are you sure it is interlaced VC-1? Can you provide small sample?

I think the problem is VC-1i in MKV that caused PDVD decoder didnt connect, M2TS seems to be OK.

How to remove unwanted DirectShow filters

Hi Hoborg,

is there a way to remove unwanted DirectShow filters prior to installing SAF? Alternatively, is there a "white" or "black list" of DirectShow filters, respectively?

I'm asking this question as I tried SAF before but I couldn't make it work. This might be due to the fact that even I uninstalled PowerDVD, DivX, FFDSHOW etc. prior to installing SAF there still might me some registered filters interfering with SAF.

I don't want to reinstall my XP SP3 OS as this is simply too much effort. However, I'd like to set up a "clean" environment for installing SAF. Therefore, I thought about unregistering unwanted filters e.g. with GraphStudio (and of course, make a complete back up of my system prior to that!).

I'm thinking of a procedure like this:

1. Uninstalling PowerDVD, FFDshow, etc e.g. with "Revo Uninstaller"
2. unregistering of all unwanted filers (e.g. all non system filters with the help of ZoomPlayer)
3. installing SAF

What do you think? (as mentioned above, I'd definitely back up my entire system before giving this a try)
Has anybody else tried a similar approach?

SAF will auto-remove some filters from system registry.
If you send me you SAF log, i can look how "clean" is your filter list
PDVD is one of worst codec pack, ewen when uninstall, there lot of mess remain in registry...
