The BD subtitles are completely different. What should help is:

Open the Subtitles with BDSup2Sub.jar and export them as .idx/.sub with the right language selection.

Put these one then in your .mkv and you should be fine. Even though i never tried it, because i cant run subtitles. Still on 1.02 :)

You can add the MPC-HC subtitle binaries into MP1.0.2, that's what I've done so I have MP 1.0.2 with internal subtitle engine.

I will try to explain the blu-ray subtitle confusion, but I don't have a doctors exam in this so other could disagree:

1, Most of us know the subtitle fomat .srt - as of, if I remember correctly, MP 1.1a support this with the built in sub engine. So, there's no need for vsfilter anymore and.. showing subs doesn't break DXVA.
2, I'm not 100% sure about this but i think the old fashion DVD's use a format of .sub/idx. This format is also supported by MP's built in sub engine and doesn't behave any different from .srt.

Both these formats are supported by numerous containers like matroska for example.

3, BR subs are of the format .sup. This can't be muxed into a mkv, as far as I know, and is not supported by Haali media splitter that is used by most of us for mkv's. However, these subs can be muxed into m2ts file. But then it's up to the m2ts-splitter to deliver these to the sub presenter. And then it's up to the presenter to interpret these.

Those among us that back up their BRs either make an iso and play them in a stand alone player or remux them into a more convenient format - mkv. If you want to keep the subs and use them with MP you have to convert these to a supported format for the matroska container, preferably one of two I mentioned first. This can be done in different ways but I prefer to use an app called bdsup2sub. The name of the app speaks for it self. When converted, just mux the .sub into your mkv and you're good to go.

    Edit:
A tip, if using srt files, name them exactly as the video file but with an extra .<language>.srt

    movie name.mkv
    movie name.english.srt

This will autoload them if you've set up MPs config right.

If muxed into the mkv, you can set the language in mkvtoolnix right away.

Does that make subtitles possible (the ones in the .mkv's) together with DXVA? I found the way to do it... gonna try it out. Thanks

My God if you all would just READ THE THREAD holy cow I can't believe how many posts here are about unlocking SAF.

Hoborg you should just do a separate thread called "PM me for instructions to unlock SAF" that way at least some of the clutter would be removed from this one.
