Perhaps a little "college-y" as someone stated earlier in the thread, but it serves me well. It doesn't look *that* bad when the speaker grilles are on.

EDIT: Oops, almost forgot the all important inside shots:

Been looking around and one thing I noticed we don't have here is a thread for people to show off their setups so I decided to create one.
The reason you didn't find a thread is because we have a Showroom section in the wiki.
Those showroom pages average about 20K hits per page (as opposed to the 2K views for this whole thread).
So if you really wanna show off.... @robbo100 and @lisag can help you add your showroom to the Wiki.
We have some more plans, but not telling yet ;) you'll find out in the New Year.

Sorry I'm not sure what you mean by 'right place' powermarcel10 - ofc you have options. My point was that if you want to 'show off' and reach the most users the best is:
    • a blog on our HP like XBMC posts weekly
    • wiki show room page
    • forum thread
Forum is great for discussion but Forum software is not designed for good presentation. Imo the above posts don't really do justice to the term 'show off'.

@bawheid - are you nocturnal or a vampire?
I guess you are single then - you really need to get some light in that place!
(I realise of course, that most of us geeks burn in the daylight anyway ;) )

And permission from the significant other? - Just pass her the nearest fluffy object (ferret) to cuddle and TELL her you are going to buy some stuff - that way, when she hits you, she already has something in her hand that wont cause too much bruising!

I'll look at setting up some kinda of gallery on facebook to encourage people to upload a photo of their setup + tag themselves sometime next year. I think this is a good way to get friends of friends exposed to mediaportal on facebook.[DOUBLEPOST=1356124248][/DOUBLEPOST]

blog is a good idea if someone has some crazy themed all out htpc room, have seen a couple of these picked up by engadget or similar etc...
remember that htpc stargate pyramid from a couple of years ago, I bet that generated a lot of web traffic

Nah, got a girlfriend and planning to move in early in the new year! It's actually not as dark as it looks, especially with the amount of light thrown out by the TV. They were taken with a phone camera and lowlight ain't exactly their speciality.

She's actually pretty decent about it. It's surprisingly easy to convince her how we "need" a 55" in place of the current 40" and how we "need" a good sound system because that's half of high definition, don't you know? ;)

You can always try, select any window, turn off the Media Portal, change the ID of the selected one to the desired one (plugin) and check.

Hi, it looks like the Client's server connection settings got corrupted somehow and were reset, hopefully this is an easy fix. Open MP2-Client, navigate to Settings->General->Connectivity->Home server. In the menu on the left there may be an option Detach from home server, if there is click it and acknowledge the dialog that pops up...

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...
