Sky UK/IT/AUS enhancements (3 Viewers)

Hi, grabbed some logs and had a look at them quickly before posting and then I had a poke around the settings in the TVServer config, Due to using WebEPG, and not wanting the over the air EPG to mess anything up I had disabled grabbing whilst recording / timeshifting as well as disabling grabbing whilst idle in the settings for DVB EPG.
Quickly enabled the grabbing whilst idle checkbox and tried again with a manual refresh and this time one of the free cards started grabbing. Probably just me misinterpreting the instructions but it sounded to me like the only setting to worry about enabling was the sky grabber. Obviously, you need to make sure DVB EPG is all enabled too.
Went back into MePo and for the most part the guide is populated.

I guess my question now is what should be enabled in DVB EPG (as I'd turned everything off) for the best possible experience, settings such as 'Always try to fill holes' and 'Enabled CRC check' etc?

Also is the Sky Guide only 7 days?

Hi there,

I used to have the 3 settings enabled (fill gaps, CRC and update existing) - This can/will hit the loading on your HTPC.

I have also tried with CRC and update existing disabled - seemed to give the same results.

Yes Sky is only 7 days (I think - trying to remember)

I do have a weird issue on one of my machines - I can not get any EPF for True Movies 1/2 (Not that I watch them).

My test HTPC works fine with these channels - I have checked all the tuning options between the machines and they are the same. I have also tried deleting the channels and reading them - still no joy! There must be something low level/behind the scenes in the DB

I also have Freesat EPG grabbing enabled - for the odd channel that Sky dont cover.

Hi Jay,

I have EPG for True Movies 2, but not 1 and its not tuning. Managed to find a list of all Sky channels so just going through and sorting out the missing / non working ones.

Where do you notice the slow loading? Like when MePo first boots up or something?
Do you just check the channels in the DVBEPG list to get the freesat listings and enable only grab for checked channels or something?

I'm loving this MePo SVN great work!

This may not help, but I have full EPG for both True Movies 1, and True Movies 2 but I use DJBlu's files.

Just realised that Jay says he has EPG on his test machines.. quite weird!

I use Miroslavs version and get full EPG with everything but ITV4+1

One thing I am toying with is doing a channel export from DJBlu's version on a test system (so I have correct channel numbers) and importing into another machine runningMiroslav's...but not sure if this will work - due to one machine having a Hauppage card, the other having a DD card.

I use Freesat grabbing for ITV4+1

I have problems with ITV4+1 too.. why is that? Isn't it on the Sky guide?

Nope.. ITV4+1 is not on Sky EPG

You have to use something like Freesat/Freeview grabbing.

It should work - I used to do that once upon a time albeit on the same machine. Backup your current channels and then you can always revert back.

The issue is the different tuner cards in the different machines.

Hauppage tuners can be quite particular (not sure if they use different settings to the DD card)?
