Are you using MSSQL?

If so, make sure you are using 1.2.0A version - the original had a problem upgrading the database.

I'll post my logs later if I can't get mine working again..

Hi,

Not sure what flavour of SQL I am using, all I know is it was a fresh Win7 install / MP install originally. However, looking at one of the DB files in notepad it kicks off with "SQLite".

I downloaded/installed MP-SkyEpg-1.2.0A_1.zip from post #1

Should I be using a different version?

I thought i'd try a fresh 1.2.0 install............and here's what appeared during the unninstall process.

Guys, don't bother with the files I uploaded.

I am pulling my hair out with this.

The tuner can scan all the channels. But will not tune after unless you reboot your machine.

I think there is a big bug with Mediaportal's latest SVN so I am going to change the method and will hopefully have something tonight.

Yup, I realize that, it's just I'm trying to identify what version of SQL I am running.....and it looks to be mySQL, not MSSQL......hence why my SKY EPG install won't work.
Downloading MSSQL express 2005 now........I presume that will work!

It should work with MSSQL or MySQL just fine.. I use MSSQL 2008 R2 - I had to modify the install script a little though to get it to work. There is a post on here somewhere with the basic script.

I'd stick with MySQL unless you are a little familiar with MSSQL..

The original issue was that it did not work for MSSQL, but did for MySQL.

Then Miroslav22/DJBlu fixed it to work with both (hence the A version).

The only slight issue I originally had was with the gentle.config file, but I manually edited that and it was fine.

Before you tear any more hair out, I think you may be looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

I was running your latest files, and the scan worked in about 60 seconds with all the categories and Sky channel numbers allocated. Started up MP and tuning worked just fine - and has done ever since. Didn't require any reboots. The only thing that doesn't work was the population of the EPG.

Ahhh, ok........so why then do I get a database update error when installing Setup-TvEngine-svn-1.1.5.26688.
I'm def using mySQL as it's the only option avail when installing 1.2.0.

I'm trying a fresh install 1.2.0 now.

Hi there,

MySQL comes "bundled" with MePo. MSSQL needs to be installed before/separately to MePo.

Not sure why you are getting the issue - logs would help
