Hi all,

I've actually compiled a new test release for myself today over the latest SVN. It's available in the first post (v1.1.6.27155) and contains the IO fix I recently posted. There is also an updated patch file that should merge into the latest SVN without any conflicts.

Be aware that the installers are probably NOT a stable release. There are updated dependancies (SharpZipLib and a few others) that may stop MyTvSeries (and others) from working until an updated version of them is released.

You will also need to install a fresh 1.2.0 Alpha and drop your TV database as it will not be upgraded properly otherwise. (You cannot upgrade from the 1.2.0 Alpha Sky installers available here)

Like I said it's a test release so I cannot support anything that doesn't work. The TV and Sky stuff seems ok, but I don't know about any plugins/skins etc.

DJBlu has not yet released the quick scan code, so you won't be able to compile this in yourself.

11. Select your Region if you are using Sky UK. Sky Italia isn't implemented yet.

Hi all, I am in the process of testing this great plugin. I have a few dedicated Tv Servers, mostly with Windows 7 and one with XP. I Use in the Media Portal Client the stable version because I want Tv Series and Movingpictures to work, until 1.2 alpha gets a stable release.

I use both Sky Uk and Sky Italy on multiple servers.

With sky Uk more or less everything seems to be Ok. I have installed Tv Server Alpha following the instructions of the post and activated the opentv scanner plugin.

With Sky Italy I have some problems. First of all the automatic scanning doesn't seem to work at all: is this what you meant in the post or only the region isn't implemented yet and the scanning should work? I tried on different servers with the same results, the scan starts and stops immediately, with no channels added.

Secondly, this may sem odd, I used the EPG for Sky Italy for some time and it worked very well. However since a few days ago (around December 30th, if I remember correctly) it stopped working. If I try to get the EPG from Alice the TV server starts using up a lot of memory and after a while it crashes.

I am wondering if these are only my problems and in that case if you want some logs posted.

Hi,

I'd recommend using the v1.1.1 installers, these are verified as being very stable for some time now.

TBH i'm not sure if the quick scan has been tested for Italy so there could be problems with it, DJBlu will be able to answer this.

It's strange that the EPG has stopped working, would you be able to post logs? (specifically all the TSWriter***.log files and tv.log and epg.log)

I was due to test Sky Italy over the weekend with my motor, however haven't due to other reasons.

I will be testing to see the problems on 13e

The Scan should work without regions. If not can you add your Logs from the TV Server log directory.

If I start the scan manually in Tv Server configuration I get the messages:

Hi Gioie,

There are specifc builds of the 4TR to work with the latest SVNs, I am in the process of intregrating all this now. I don't want to hi-jack this thread so if you PM with issues I will see what I can do to help and also let you have the latest 4TR builds.

Testing of the mods here should be carried out on base installations, this as far as I can gather is still very much work in progress but I am sure the end result will be worth the wait.

Since I had some time during these days I tried MP 1.1, 1.2, with and without 4tr, but I always had the same results. Trevor, I will try anyway the files you sent me following your instructions and let you know about the results.

However while I am in the process could you please let me know if someone is able to update the EPG from Alice (Sky Italy) and in that case what version of MP and of the plugin they are using? Maybe I missed something, but I tried a lot of combinations with Sky Italy, with and without 4tr, with 1.1 and 1.2, on different servers, always with the same results, therefore either you have the same problem or there is something specific on my side. I would gladly reinstall at least one of my servers with the exact configuration in order to have back Sky Italy EPG functionality.

The same about the opentv scanner, if someone has it working with Sky Italy I'd like to know the configuration in order to try and replicate it here.

One more thing: I use mdapi, could this represent a problem?

Stability aside, could it be that I created the problem when I upgraded from MP 1.1.1 to 1.1.2? Is MP version 1.1.2 compatible with your plugin?

About opentv scanner, please let me know if it can work with Sky Italy and what version of MP I need to use, I'd like very much to test and possibly use this plugin.

It could be, the best way to install is to download the 1.2.0 Alpha and install the update with the files from the first page. The TV server has crashed a few times on me and I too have "That" filter installed to see my channels.

Can you check the signal strength at the time of the EPG grab as there is a known issue of the TV Server crashing when the signal is low.
