is there a way to speed up Media Portal Bootup? Even on a good SSD drive it takes about 15 seconds, my Windows 7 boots faster!

Thanks.

We are looking into ways of decreasing the time required to start MediaPortal. But these are experiments currently. We do not know in which version of MP those improvements will be included. If they will make it into a version at all. Currently the tested experiments do have nasty side effects.

    +1

Just reinstalled win 7 64bit on Intel I3 2100T with SSD - Windows boots in ~14 - Mediaportal in ~12-14 (including plugins) - ~8 sec. in debug mode.

I also hope to see better startup sometime in the future - Standby/Resume still seems to have several flaws
    • Halfscreen issues on HDMI
    • Missing Mediaportal Keybord shortcut for "Standby"(For us without Remotes with power buttons).
    • Issues with playback, when entering standby while in Live TV - Playback stops/freezes when resuming or playback is stuttering.

I got this same problem with resuming from S3 when previously viewed a VIDEO_TS folder.
Live tv doesn't have this issue.
I'm pretty sure it is not Codec related because they both use the same.

Is there a bugreport regarding this? If not, please creat it (w/logs of course :)).

Regarding startup time - @Scythe42 - words of wisdom?

In many cases 3rd party plugins are contributing to the slow startup times of MP. On not so hot dev PC I have approx 3 to 4 second load times with MP.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ? MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback. If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo. I have...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1

I note that you are using MP2. The following applies to MP1, but I think that MP2 is identical in this situation. "TV Server Config" has a "TV Mapping" panel in the "TV Channels" section. On the "TV Mapping" tab: The left column lists the channels that have not yet been mapped to the TV tuner identified by the drop-down menu just...
